"POTBELLY: Good Vibes, Great Music (Pictures)"

"I spoke with Potbelly after their show. Completely down to Earth guys who are actively seeking a record label. You can tell the music is in their soul. It’s that good. But the guys were quick to ask, “Did YOU enjoy the music? Did it make you want to move?” Of course it did. They said that’s what they hope for. Their only hope is for those who listen to enjoy the music that they play."

"Potbelly Releases Their Second Album"

"Cypress-Fairbanks rockers Potbelly are set to release their second album, simply titled Potbelly, this weekend with two shows. More polished and musically diverse than the band's first release, Turn Off the TV. Go Outside!, the new album owes part of its fully fleshed-out sound to most recent lineup addition Austin Bradshaw."

"The nine-track album took a year to write and produce. It begins with a familiar reggae thump, works its way through some introspective, pretty pop-rock and then rushes to the barn in an electric frenzy of punk-rock anger. With songs that deal with the range of emotions that go along with a bad breakup, it is not necessarily an album that's easily digested in one or two hearings, but rather a "grower."

-William Michael Smith - The Houston Press

"Local music Lives"

Finally, new music I would actually pay for!!!

When I first got the self titled Potbelly demo I have to admit I let it sit in my truck for a few weeks before slapping it in and then I was kickin myself for waiting. I have been listening to it over and over again ever since which says a lot. I haven't wanted to listen to anything that much since the 90s. Your style is a good blend of sound from Nirvana, Weezer, Sublime with some reggae rythyms and something else I can't put a name to yet. It isn't too hard or too here today, gone tomorrow ear candy like a lot of newer music and I love the breakouts from slow to full on jammin in some of them. Finally something with some soul. Best of luck with the new CD. I will definitely buy it.

Later, Joe C.
