Bio

Born Trey Moorer in Montgomery, AL, the rapper now known as P.O.T.S. turned from shy kid to spotlight stealer at the tender age of 6. When asked to lead a song in his church youth choir, he reluctantly blessed the mic and his love for the stage was born. First donning the name KAOS (because of his rebellious nature and rambunctious flow), he mastered his skills by spitting freestyles and participating in battles around his hometown. He later ditched the name KAOS to try on the popular regional moniker P.O.T.S. (most often standing for “Prince of the South”) but he decided the acronym needed to be more unique to his complex personality and growing talent. He kept the name and reassigned the letters to mean: Poetic. Outspoken. Triumphant. Street. By the time P.O.T.S. graduated from high school and joined the military, his lyrical content had changed from girls, relationships and heartache to life on the streets and the trials he had endured. A relocation overseas not only gave him a change of scenery but it boosted his career and helped him build an international fan base as he hit stages all over the UK. His braggadocios behavior and feverish flow became a fan favorite and was proudly showcased on his debut mixtape “Can't Spell Beast Without Best!” (2009). Upon returning to the U.S., P.O.T.S. was stationed in Shreveport, Louisiana, where he continued to pursue his music career. Under new management, he made his name in the market by competing in a city-wide lyrical competition called the 318 Cypher. The competition helped him showcase his skills and solidify that he was a lyrical force to be reckoned with, as his appearances quickly gained him recognition in his new city. It is clear that no matter where P.O.T.S. goes, if you give him a mic, he will turn naysayers into new fans. Nearly two decades after his first taste of the stage, P.O.T.S. is still hungry for the spotlight and always ready to take on competition. Though he’s accomplished much, P.O.T.S. is eager to take his career to even greater heights. In 2013, he will release his long overdue second mixtape that will show and prove his undeniable talent as well as his growth as an artist. P.O.T.S. aspires to be more than just southern rap royalty, he hopes to become a lyrical legend.
