"TAXI Review of Breakaway"

Melody:
- Good music in verses
- Good music in choruses
- Memorable "hook"

Structure:
- "Well-written structure"

Lyrics
- Engaging
- Cohesive
- Communicates emotion to listener

"Hey Pou, your song features good musical and melodic parts and a very memorable hook. The sincere vocal delivery suits the song well. The musicianship is solid, driving and tight and the production sounds excellent overall. The arrangement has an effective structure and flows well.

One thing you could consider is a slightly more dynamic second verse with a stronger beat. At the moment, you are breaking it down to (almost) first verse dynamic and energy - a stronger drum beat and a slightly more driving musical backing could help to keep the energy moving forward more, while still allowing for the higher dynamic and volume to come in in the chorus to make that part stand out as it needs to do.

Apart from that, good work."

8/10 in all categories which were Music, Lyrics, Marketability, Arrangement, Production, and Engineering. - TAXI

Bio

In an era where rock n' roll is a dying musical breed, few artists still fly the flag for REAL, RAW, AGGRESSIVE hard rock..

..one such artist is POU PIAM

Hailing from Riverside, CA, Pou Piam(pronounced 'POW PEEYUM') is nineteen year-old musician with ear-catching melodies and an eye-popping image. Stylistically mature far beyond those his age, Pou aims to revive the glory days, while continuing to bring modern hard rock into the 21st century.

A multi-instrumentalist, Piam wrote all the music and lyrics and played guitar, bass, piano and sang everything on his debut four-song EP, "The 13th Evening". After pre-production with producer Scott Humphrey (Rob Zombie, Motley Crue, Tommy Lee) the EP was released in May of 2008 to positive reviews from numerous media outlets, and is currently available at several digital retailers including iTunes, Napster, Amazon and Pandora Internet Radio. Of his musical abilities, producer of the album Rocco Guarino (Velvet Revolver, Stone Temple Pilots, Amanda Overmyer) says, "He rocks harder than you, and plays guitar better than your mom. Okay, he plays guitar better than anyone you know. Unless you know Slash. Or Hendrix. But you probably don't, so check this shit out. Keep your eyes on Pou, he's definitely going places."

Currently a student at Musician's Institute in Hollywood, Pou Piam is in the process of writing a full length follow-up album tentatively titled, "Right In The Kisser" due for a winter 2010 release. "The new material is a lot more 'mature' than the older stuff. Instead of aggression just for the sake of being aggressive, the new album has a lot more depth to it, but it's still tangible and raw enough to just pop in the car, roll down the windows and break the speed limit," says Pou.

"A favorite quote of mine is, 'If you can't fit in, stick out.' I'm pretty shitty at fitting in, so watch your step or you'll trip over my stick!"
