Bio

Powersville is from a small town called Powersville, GA. Four guys born and raised in middle GA, the southern feel in our music is something that comes from our blood, from our very upbringing. The heaviness in our music comes from the love affair with the viscerality of volume, and the power of creating it. Powersville's sound proudly proclaims itself with reverance for our roots, with one foot perpetually stepping forward, a mix of soulful southern grooves and blistering, straight ahead metal. After forming in late '06, and a hiatus at the end of '07, Powersville stepped up again with a new vocalist (Rob) in February '08, and began revamping old material, writing new material, and playing in FL, GA, and TN. Our drive is knowing this is what we are here for. The knowledge that every single thing and event before us is constantly culminating in every moment in front of us drives our ideaology that we are the ones we've been waiting for. We are not into evil, or darkness, or cliche metal subjects, but rather the idea that, socially speaking, the world is a beautiful, mislead thing whose fate lies in our ability and willingness to better ourselves.
We dress in our everyday clothes when we get onstage, and the only elements in our live set are the four of us, our instruments and the music. It's a purposeful avoidance of anything that can be labelled a "gimmick", and we hold in high regard the fact that because of this, we put all of our energies into the songs themselves and our delivery of them onstage. Our goal is simply to make every second, every riff, every lyric, and every fill of every single song the one that you want to hear.
As of writing this, in October '08, we've spent the last 7 months traveling to north GA almost every single weekend, playing when we can, and still traveling just to hand out cd's and flyers on weekends we're not playing. Since self-recording our 3 song demo in July, we've given out over 1,000 copies.
Coming from an area rich in musical history, we find ourselves occupying a sadly underrepresented genre in this area. For this reason, we've decided to take into our own hands the responsibility to make middle GA known for it's metal. Starting in February '09, we are doing the first of what will be a perpetual series of Metal Benefit Shows. We are organizing these to show the community that there's talent in metal, and that there's talented metal right in our own backyard. Also, to bring together musicians who otherwise have no (or limited) places to play in the area, and show them that together, we can not only become aware of important causes and people right here in our area, but we can help as well, and at the same time, put on shows for all ages and bring together many local people of many interests and ideals.
