2011 SuburbaNites Magazine "Best of Burbs" WINNER'S - Best Country Band

Prairie Station is comprised of 5 members, all sharing the same passion, COUNTRY ROCK! Jim Hughes, Lead Guitar, started what is now Prairie Station March 1, 2010. Joe Nasiatka, the drummer of the band, was the first to come aboard. Joe’s dedication and experience has helped Jim form the band since day 1! The band started out under a different name, 10 Apart and went through quite a series of musicians and changes, each leaving a more interesting story than the last. The next member to join, Jason Sandberg, the bass player, is the solid rock that keeps the band in focus. Jason is responsible for leading the band to find Joe Anselmo, Male Lead Vocals and Rhythm Guitar. Joe brings an extraordinary personality to the band, providing us with an unmistakable sense of humor. Last but not least, Jen Caliendo, provides our Female Vocals and wicked Tambourine.

There has been one concrete rule since the beginning, find a group of musicians with outstanding personalities. This rule has been followed in that very way. Each member of the band brings unique traits and expertise but above all, brings an amazing and outgoing personality that is allowing Prairie Station to grow as a band. This in turn is reflected in the music!

Prairie Station plays Country Rock covers and in the future will hopefully write their own music. In only 5 weeks, the members of Prairie Station were able to play their First gig! This took place May 19th, 2011 at the Roundhouse in Aurora, IL. To make the first show even more off the charts, the band was moved from the little indoor stage to the big outdoor stage! Without a doubt, Prairie Station ROCKED the house! Over 60 FANS attended this show, the first time out!

Of course none of this would be possible without the fans! Prairie Station cannot THANK their fans enough! Every band says that but it’s true. The fans are the catalysts that provide the energy necessary for Prairie Station to ROCK!
