"Tasty Fanzine Demo Review"

Pray for Hayden manage to combine two wonderful guitar sounds in a way that few other bands can achieve. Firstly there's the oh-so trendy slashy clean breaks which form the bulk of the melodies but then there is a lovely wash of dirty guitar which forms a sublime backdrop and fills out the sound and allows the three way harmonies to play around at will. Super-assured as you would expect from a band made up of some of Leeds' music glitterati. But they have the talent and the swagger to pull it off too. - Tasty Fanzine

"Death Of Me Review"

A bouncy post-hardcore anthem… wonders will never cease! Taking the frenzied delivery of Mclusky, mixing it with the melodic clout of Jawbreaker and giving it a short sharp kick up the jacksey - Pray For Hayden are onto a winning formula, make sure you keep watching y'all! - Subba Cultcha

"The Basement, York 4-5-10 [Live Review]"

Pray for Hayden stepped up on stage. Now listen to me when I tell you that these are very, very good. Everyone likes to be able to say ‘I remember them when they first started out’ and if so then I suggest you catch them soon as they have a strong career ahead of them.

With vocals ranging from the rawk to the melodic, thundering guitars over a layer of slick synths and a strong commanding stage presence, Pray for Hayden do not aim to just take over a stage they aim to own it. Ash Elliot is everything you want in a front man, one moment intense and lost within the music, the next jovial and obviously happy in the knowledge that the band he leads is without a doubt going places. The fact that they are so good is compounded in the way that they could take a song like Fascination by the Nordic posters Alphabeat, tear it apart and turn it into a decent song which I had previously thought impossible. A highlight of the night. - Shattered Glass Media

Bio

Pray for Hayden are a 5-piece, anthemic Pop-Rock band from Leeds, UK with a signature sound that mixes elements of Rock, Punk, Pop and Indie.Imagine if Wham were to have children with The Clash, now imagine that they forced these children to listen to The Cure constantly. Well that’s one way to describe their sound!

Originally conceived as a post-hardcore band, Pray for Hayden formed about 4 years ago from the ashes of two other Leeds groups: Her Alibi and Famous Lincoln. They quickly gained a reputation amongst the underground scene with their off kilter songs and energetic live shows, and along the way they toured
the country playing some amazing venues and festivals whilst supporting some great bands including Blood Brothers, Planes Mistaken for Stars, Walls of Jericho and Me vs. Hero.

This version of the band, however, was not to last. Fast forward to 2009. With the arrival of synth player Craig, new guitarist Jay, and drummer Ben. The sound begins to evolve as the new 5-piece take inspiration from the bands they had come to love (Jimmy Eat World, Weezer, Go:Audio, My Awesome Compilation to name a few). Synth hooks are layered over guitar riffs, chugging bass lines and drumbeats fuse together seamlessly and vocal harmonies emerge in amongst catchy, melodic choruses that combine to produce their signature sound.

12 months of writing sessions and studio work are about to culminate in the release of their new 5 track E.P. “Chances”. Pray For Hayden are back and better than ever! You want fun? You
got it!!
