Praying Poet

Nicole Pritchett also known as Praying Poet transitioned from hidden hopelessness to genuine life and newness in love with a redeemer. She was re-birthed in Christ then removed from secular writing and hip hop for the purpose of her gift of lyrics and poetry to bless.

After conversion, she began penning Christian poetry and lyrics of honesty in the Christian walk, power in the presence of God, and the realness of living for Christ.

In 2002, Nicole began speaking at conferences, shows, workshops and events sharing the gift of spoken word poetry with groups across the United States. Fall of 2003 Nicole produced the EP, Child of God, her first all poetry audio CD/ booklet set.

Moving forward in 2004 she recorded November Prophecy which incorporated poetry and songs. November Prophecy features singers and musicians who joined with Nicole in prayer and production.

Nicole was ordained and licensed by Bishop Michael R. Barringer as a minister of the Gospel (Greater Love Christian Church, Dayton Ohio) then she began production on “Not My Momma’s Gospel”. Not My Momma's Gospel is a christian audio CD that includes a blend of Holy Hip Hop, christian spoken word, excerpts of preaching and singing. With comparable head bobbing beats, rhymes that capture and charge the listener, rappers, singers, all included while the music is in essence hiphop and neo-soul-ish in nature. Not My Momma’s Gospel released in April 2008.

As a play write, Nicole wrote and directed the play “Not My Momma’s Gospel but the Gospel Still” This play was debuted on May 23rd 2008 in Dayton Ohio.

Born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, Nicole contiues to deliver spoken word with boldness and humility, declaring truth wrapped in love, displaying fire bottled in servitude.
