"Latin Spring Jam"

The Latin Spring Jam is an independently organized music festival aiming to create awareness of the local Latin Rock Music scene in Vienna, giving the possibility to emerging young international artists to gain exposure doing what they love doing: playing music.

The Paul & Robi Band
The P&R Band is a joint project between Argentinian guitarist Paul Bonahora and Italian vocalist Roberto Sardi. The band has been performing in Vienna since 2011 in numerous venues including Floridita, Elysium, Ostklub, Albertina Passage and more. In 2012 they took part of the Donauisnelfest Festival performing at the Ö3 / Radio Wien Stage where they opened for the legendary Rock/Pop band Simple Minds. The P&R Band currently presents Paul Bonahora’s soloist record “Fuera de Tiempo” and is preparing for their first studio album to be released this year. Their performances embody truly rocking guitar sounds combined with savory Latin American grooves brought directly from Argentina.
?
Alfredo Garcia Navas
Alfredo Garcia-Navas is one of the most brilliant guitar players of the Austrian music scene. After he finished studying classical guitar at the Wiener Musikhochschule in Vienna, he devoted himself to several styles of popular music. Alfredo's experience in countless distinct projects is compiled into his music and way of playing, and this versatility makes Alfredo a unique guitar player on the highest level. Alfredo and Band are now promoting their 7th studio album “Back in the blues” which was released in 2012. His performances include an exquisite combination of blues and rock guitars with an added charming Latin touch which will get you ready to rock and move your body!

The Latin Spring Jam 2013 will also be hosting Latin DJ's which will accompany the festival together with some great Latin Rock tunes and grooves and will count with the presence of special guests on stage.

What is Latin Rock?
Latin Rock combines groovy Latin American rhythms with a spice of truly rocking guitar sounds influenced by classic rock, blues and more. Pioneers of this genre have been bands like Santana, Mana, Soda Stereo, among others.

Why Latin Rock?
There is an increasing community interested in the Latin scene in Vienna. Latin music related events are becoming increasingly popular in the city and so is its music. We were inspired to see a thrilling number of greatly talented Latin Rock bands pushing hard their way up and get their music out there.

We, being rock lovers (and Latin ourselves) want to bring these two elements together and provide a platform that connects that audience in search for the Latin culture with those who can provide that rocking sound with that shaky groove. We want you to come and feel the music, dance, shake your body; we just want to rock and groove the hell out of you. Don't worry, it'll be just fun!

Bio

The Paul & Robi Band is a European rock band formed in Milan in 2009. It was founded by Italian vocalist Roberto Sardi and Argentinian guitarist Paul Bonahora as an acoustic duo project. Following to Paul's release of his solo single album "Fuera de Tiempo" in 2011, the duo relocated itself to Vienna to start performing in local clubs. As from then on they on-boarded Marc the Shark on the drums, Harry Harris on the keyboards, Paul Altmann on the bass guitar and Hari Bon Goza on the percussions to feature a full sized and powerful band. The group quickly gained popularity in the Viennese Latin scene by the means of hosting country-themed-events in major local Venues. One of the most popular events has been the "Noche Argentina" which was presented as a series of events with an attendance of +600 people each. In 2012 the band was nominated as a finalist of the Rock the Island Contest and performed as an opening act for Simple Minds at the Donauinselfest 2012, Europe's biggest open air festival. In 2013 the P&R Band released its debut videoclip and single "Aching, breaking" which was featured by VOLUME AT and very well received among their circle of fans. The band currently works on their debut full length album which will be released at the end of this year.
