Donnell Lemond, better known as Preme Cordice, is the third of ten children and from the start, he and his parents recognized that Preme was predestined to be the witty lyricists and story teller that he is today. His parents, two Army veterans from the Midwest were his principal inspirations. His father who was an audio engineer, who pursued music at The Art Institute, introduced Preme to his first love, music, at an early age and encouraged him to listen, understand and appreciate music as much as possible. Having noticed Preme’s undisputable interest in performing music, his mother signed him up to be on the band at his middle school in Riverdale, Georgia. Shortly thereafter, Preme’s family relocated to the birthplace of Motown Records, Inkster, Michigan. It is there that Preme discovered and fell in love with an unfamiliar art form called “Battle Rapping” and Preme’s love for music as a complete art form escalated. From this point forward, Preme instantly began taking Hip Hop seriously and devoted himself to the art form. He trained on all levels to be the best at his craft, not only to be the great emcee, but to master the craft and use it as a tool to inspire, connect and teach. He began battling, writing songs and performing in local talent shows and in no time at all Preme was locally synonymous with lyricism.

By the age of seventeen Preme caught the interest of a local CEO and entrepreneur, Davaron Grey who, along with his team, took Preme under their wing and mentored him, until the unfortunate passing of Grey. From this point it became imperative to Preme that Grey’s dream and the lessons he taught, never be forgotten nor in vain. Preme, who was gainfully employed, began to use his paychecks to fund his music career, which included producing his own beats, buying his own recording equipment and executive producing his own mixtapes. By doing this, not only was he able to earn additional money from production and the sale of his mixtapes, his work paid off and caught the attention of many, allowing him to work with platinum producers The Olympicks (Jeezy, Lil Wayne,) Mike Winans (Chris Brown, Diddy) Kenneth Kenny Flav Dickerson(Busta Rhymes, Mary J Blige) and DJ DDT(Snoop Dogg). Preme industriously pursued his dreams and landed a management deal with Derwin Tobago Benito, owner of DBS Sounds Management and DBS Sounds, an independent retail music store located in Riverdale, Georgia. Mr. Benito has been a staple in the community for over twenty-years, supporting independent and mainstream artists in multiple facets of the music industry.

There is no doubt that Preme is on a path to complete success, especially having performed in the Atlanta’s 30th Annual Sweet Auburn Spring Festival, V103’s “For Sisters Only” and was chosen out of 2500+ to battle for $10,000 by Streetz 94.5. Preme has also shared the stage with artists such as Tyrese, Papoose, Shawty Lo and collaborated with radio personality Ferrari Simmons on an Independent EP.

With proper guidance Preme Cordice can and will be music’s most influential force. His mission is to use his stories to inspire multitudes, encouraging them to think outside the box, take different routes by making good choices, and to pursue their dreams persistently.
