"The laid back vocals really suit this song. Great chord progressions. Fun concept! Very dry. Keep on writing - this kind of quirky music really suits festivals, especially Folk Festivals." - Country Category Judges

"Wonderfully acerbic lyric! Pity we don't have a comedy section! Excellent impersonations! Well done, very clever song! Actually made me laugh. Congratulations!" - Acoustic Category Judges

Bio
I like a good story in a folk tune - a journey. I also like there to be humour, even when the subject is one that is traditionally approached from a more serious protest angle.
In December 2004 I received a 'Best Acoustic Artist Award' as a Top 10 Finalist in the MusicOz Songwriting Comp for "The Tofu Song" and I also ranked at #28 with "Georgie Porgie Puddin'n'Pie."
The Tofu Song - a song about a guy who resents the veganism and other healthy changes that Ma, the kids, the dog and the cat have introduced into his life. He feels 'things were just fine how they are, are, are.'
Georgie Porgie Puddin'n'Pie - a song about a guy called George who invades an innocent country to exploit their oil with his good friends Tony & Johnny.
Both got really positive feedback from the judges & they encouraged me to take my style to festivals (see 'Press').
I entered as President Wayne & the Back Up Guy, but go solo these days as President Wayne or The Prez when I need to feel cool.
I found the whole MusicOz experience really worthwhile & it was so inspiring to be among thousands of unsigned songwriters, musos & music lovers from across Australia, and to see The Gurge, Bliss & Esso (hot Wollongong hip hop crew), Tex Perkins and some of the category winners perform.
I played at the MusicOz Acoustic Showcase at Mt Kembla & met some brilliant musicians & very hospitable locals.
I've just added a new tune to this site... "No Higher Ground." Check it out.
