"Lovers Rock by Pressure Buss Pipe"

Management for roots singer Pressure Buss Pipe have earmarked early 2016 for the release of his sixth album. The set will be titled Lovers Rock, similar to his EP which was released early this year.

Lovers Rock, the EP, has spawned four singles to date, the latest being Like it Is, co-produced by Pressure Buss Pipe and Sean Folkes Lewis.

A native of St. Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands, Pressure Buss Pipe announced himself with the hit song, Love and Affection, in 2007. Produced by Don Corleon, Love and Affection gave Pressure (as he was known then) a following in Jamaica where he worked with top producers including Corleon and Trevor 'Baby G' James.

His previous albums, The Sound and Africa Redemption, were released in 2014. Since then, 34-year-old artiste has toured North America and Europe relentlessly.

"R. City to Headline U.S. Virgin Islands Music Showcase at SXSW 2016 Pressure Busspipe, Verse Simmonds and I Grade Dub to perform at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas"

AUSTIN, TX - LargeUp, a global platform for Caribbean music, arts and culture, will present Austin Island, the first-ever U.S. Virgin Islands music showcase at South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas, on Thursday, March 17, 2016.
The event, co-sponsored by the United States Virgin Islands Department of Tourism, will feature live performances from some of the top names in Virgin Islands music, including R. City, Pressure Busspipe, Verse Simmonds and I Grade Dub, in an official showcase at the world's premier music conference.
Headlining Austin Island, which will take place from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. CST at Bungalow (92 Rainey St. in Austin), is R. City, who recently topped the Billboard Pop Chart with their No. 1 single "Locked Away" featuring Adam Levine, lead singer of Maroon 5. A screening of What Dreams Are Made Of, a documentary about R. City's journey from St. Thomas, which recently premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, will precede the show, at 6 p.m. CST, followed by a Q&A session with R. City's Timothy and Theron Thomas.
"We are excited to be performing with so many other Caribbean artists for Austin island," says Timothy Thomas of R. City. "We are fans of many of them as well as great friends, it's like family. In addition to performing with our Caribbean family, premiering our documentary, What Dreams Are Made Of, which highlights our life back home in St. Thomas, makes this event even more special for my brother and I."
The showcase comes as the music industry in the U.S. Virgin Islands - St. Croix, St. John and St. Thomas - is drawing increased international attention. Other featured acts include St. Thomas singer Pressure Busspipe, whose anthem "Virgin Islands Nice" inspired the Department of Tourism's VI Nice campaign, and can be heard in clubs worldwide; Verse Simmonds, the Atlanta-based R&B singer and songwriter from St. Thomas who has worked with Rihanna, Kanye West, Jay-Z and Kelly Rowland; and I Grade Dub, the live dub project from St. Croix music producer and I Grade Records label head Laurent, "Tippy I" Alfred.
"Artists from the Virgin Islands are producing some of the best music coming out of the Caribbean right now," says Jesse Serwer, editorial director of LargeUp.com, and co-producer of Austin Island. "When you look at the success that R. City is having in the pop world, next to all of the great reggae music happening in St. Croix with I Grade Records, it really is unprecedented for such a small market."
"The U.S. Virgin Islands has a rich, diverse cultural and musical heritage and we are keen to partner with LargeUp on this initiative," said Beverly Nicholson-Doty, Commissioner of Tourism of the U.S. Virgin Islands. "Around the world, our artists and musicians are representing the Territory with excellence, and we look forward to showcasing their talent and creativity during this musical extravaganza." - Dallas Weekly

Discography

Born Delyno Brown on August 5, 1981, Pressure’s father was a member of a popular local band on St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands which exposed him to music at a very young age. Pressure first rose to popularity in the Virgin Islands and in regional and national reggae circles as a member of the Star Lion Family reggae group, a group of seven young local artists. The group was in high demand and opened for established reggae artists such as Capleton, Buju Banton, Bunny Wailer and Junior Reid to name a few. After the group’s split, Pressure further developed as an artist opening as a solo act for Sizzla and Elephant Man. Soon after, he linked with the talented Dean Pond and Eno Stafford of Studio 340 and together in 2005, they produced and released Pressure’s debut album, The Pressure Is On, on the Tsuni Records label.

The debut album included hits such as “Zion Is Home,” “No Limitation,” and “Light In You. It was no surprise that Pressure’s first album caught the attention of internationally renowned producer, Don Corleon. The synergy between the two would later birth the mega-hit “Love and Affection,” which was the first song they recorded together. “Love and Affection,” immediately took the airwaves by storm and earned a place in the pantheon of reggae classics. Following placement of the mega-single on the famed 2007 Reggae Gold compilation, his "Love and Affection" album was released in 2007 on Don Corleon Records.

In 2009, Pressure re-united with Dean Pond to release his third album, Coming Back for You. The album was well received in the U.S. and European markets and continued Pressure’s tradition of exceptional songwriting and outstanding musical production.

After years of highly regarded collaborative songs, Pressure finally linked with St. Croix producer Tippy I of I Grade Records to create a full-length album of heavyweight roots and cultural tracks produced by the renowned production team Zion I Kings. The album entitled The Sound was released on April 15, 2014. Fresh off of the album’s release and critical acclaim, the U.S. Virgin Islands Tourism Department announced that Pressure’s “Virgin Island’s Nice” track would be the epicenter of a massive global scale marketing campaign for the U.S. Virgin Islands. This campaign included a May 2014 appearance and performance on the nationally syndicated Wendy Williams talk show which further exposed Pressure’s musical talents and ability.

In November 2014, Pressure released his highly anticipated project entitled "Africa Redemption". With the lead single from this body of work “I’m Grateful,” the album also included the long-awaited collaboration with Baby G of Yard Vybz Entertainment and Busspipe Records with guest features by Damian Marley, Tarrus Riley and Chronnixx. With a catalogue of amazing work at the core of his musical foundation, Pressure continues to ascend to his plateau of being a globally recognized reggae artist from the U.S. Virgin Islands. He is currently touring Europe and other parts of the world promoting his Lovers Rock EP. Pressure’s official music video for the song “Nuh Worry Yourself” (included on his Lovers Rock EP) recently premiered on Vevo.com and Tempo Networks Cross Caribbean Countdown. The video starring actor Malik Yoba and Atlanta Housewives star and Radio Personality Claudia Jordan was shot on St. Thomas, U.S.V.I. during the islands Carnival festivities.

The Lovers Rock album is slated for release at the top of 2016. The project is a special compilation of all original reggae love songs which will serve as a body of work stemming from Pressure’s Love and Affection which officially introduced his musical prowess to the world. Pressure has appeared in numerous publications and media outlets including BET, Revolt TV, Arise 360, Sirius XM, Shade 45 with DJ Kay Slay, Sister 2 Sister Magazine, Rolling Out Magazine, Uptown Magazine, BlackMen Magazine and Rolling Out Magazine to name a few.  He is also filming a documentary focusing on his music, creative journey and U.S. Virgin Islands roots that will allow fans to experience his world travel and performances in countries such as Ethiopia, Malta, Costa Rica and a few other countries.
