Biography

Born May 5th, 1982, Matthew "Prestege" London was brought up in North York, Ontario and found a passion for music . It's this passion that enables him to enjoy all walks of music from Juelz Santana to Marvin Gaye. Prestege began rapping at the age of 14 and moved on to create a name for himself by performing at neighborhood shows and events. At the age of 15 Prestege started writing his music more seriously. At age 17 he entered and won himself 2nd place in his first talent contest. His love for composing music combined with his energetic performances and superb penmanship have earned him the status as one of the best artists in Toronto. Last summer that passed Prestege was one of the few talented artists to perform @ the "Style In Progress" show. While there he performed for hundreds alongside the likes of well known rapper, Bishop Brigante. This is just one of the several early achievements in his youthful and optimistic profession.

Only 26 years old, Prestege is extremely conscious he is very fresh to the music scene, and is more than prepared to put in his share of hard work. This winter that passed Prestege enhanced his status by teaming up with producer Dan Johnson, from DFS Records. With the assistance of Dan's exceptional production Prestege is designing and assembling an incredibly sophisticated album. From the album, he has 2 new singles which will shortly be hitting the airwaves on FLOW 93.5 and 91.5 The Beat. Nevertheless, 2006 will be a prosperous year for the young emcee. Filled with cunning metaphors, unthinkable punchlines, and attractive wordplay, Prestege is certainly an artist to be on the look out for.

The intelligent rhymester Prestege intends to overcome obstacles and kick down doors in the rap music industry. The release of his solo mixtape is only a sample of what's yet to come from the gifted young musician. It includes 2 newly released tracks. One of them is "On The Scene", a club banger that has hit stations in Toronto and niteclubs across the nation. The second is "Don't Wanna Lose U", a smooth loverboy track for the ladies which is currently blazing up radio networks in both England and the United States.

This is certainly one entertainer you don't want to miss out on. Without breaking a sweat Prestege ensures an immaculate stage presence. He has gained his admiration from the ground up by displaying his skills in competitions for years. The moment has arrived for him to expand his horizons and show the masses what he's made of.

With his debut album agreeably titled "A Diamond In The Rough" and soon to be released in 2009, Prestege is determined on making a well rounded album from start to finish, giving proof that Canadian musicians such as himself can contend with artists in America. Prestege has said, "It's a blessing to have the gift of providing people with quality music, and that's what I'm doing. I plan to change the face of Canadian rap music and make history at the same time."

His drive for success and love for music have helped him maintain his vision on making authentic music. Undeniably, Prestege's solo debut album is bound to take Canadian hip hop on a voyage to prestigious standards in 2009.
