Pretend Electric

Pretend Electric has been winning people over with their infectious authenticity since the winter of 2010. Marked by the distinct pockets of LA in which they reside, the band's sound is a perfect blend of Echo Park exploration and beachy pop mastery. Formed by friends Chris Newell and Ian McAllister after a housesitting stint in Hollywood resulted in an impressive catalogue of hair-brained home recordings, the band called aboard Takuma Ieto and Michael Crankshaw in early 2012 to take the reins on the rhythm section in bringing their tape music to the stage. While their roots remain firmly planted in their house-party style show, Pretend Electric has been making it's way through the legendary rock theaters of Los Angeles. They released their first studio EP, "Entraînant", in September of 2012 and quickly introduced the world to their love of surf, music and brotherhood by way of the video for their first single, "Casino".
