Pretty Goats is the gypsy punk rock band led by Buzzy Jones, former leader of the bands Bongo Jones and Go Go Volante and the sometimes side-man to a whole host of other fellow musicians such as The Cryptkeeper 5, Band of Beards, Dead Pony Cats, and Jet Weston & The Atomic Ranch Hands. Pretty Goats first formed five years ago as a mostly studio project with a rotating cast of musicians. Recently, though, the band has solidified its lineup and has begun to stretch its legs as a live act.
Pretty Goats features Buzzy on vocals and guitar, Stef DiPiero on lead guitar, Frankie Jones on bass, and Brian Casale (who, himself, is the frontman and leader of the band Gimme Back My Sons), is on drums. The band's songs vary from in your face, sing along punk anthems to moody, David Lynchian murder ballads and reflect a variety of influences ranging from late era Tom Waits and eastern European Klezmer songs to Yoko Ono and The Clash.
