Bio

Pamela Moses born to civil rights advocate Brenda Monroe-Moses, and Jamaican immigrant Errol Moses pseudonym P. Moses, persistence is definitely in her genes. Many have tried to label P. Moses as a female rapper but that is just a fragment of who she is; writer extraordinaire, musician of many instruments, entertainer, actor, motivator would just be a short list. P. Moses represents the underdog who is not afraid to speak the truth, and gives it to you the way you need it, real and raw! P. Moses refuses to be anything other than respected. Whether you are a corporate executive, or an ex-convict P. Moses commands your attention. A natural born leader, some may say she is just an angry baby mama, others would say she just aint never scared, but the bottom line is she articulates music in a way that each emotion is felt lyric, by lyric. She can make you move your feet, nod, your head, and touch your heart all at the same time. Unlike most rappers P. Moses is a college graduate from the University of TN and holds a Masters in Intercultural Studies, and intends to use music as a force and forum of bringing different cultures together. When describing P. Moses certain words that come to mind are passionate, persuasive, provocative, powerful, but pretty would be the most fluent. Many prominent pioneers arise when you hear Memphis. Elvis, AL Green, Isaac Hayes, Justin Timberlake, and the list goes on, but somewhere in the middle of North Memphis lies Hip Hop greatness. The world has yet to meet a female artist to elevate all cultures until now. Its has definitely been hard for a pimp in Memphis but try being a Pretty Pimp having to battle with local rappers but just living in a city where people associate you with the first 48, and a political machine that just doesnt seem to be running right, it has been hard to be heard or seen, but not for P. Moses. With the constant clutter and confusion in the Rap Scene, it has been difficult for some true artist to find a significant place in the rolling rap revolution. P. Moses has slowly but surely sat herself aside from the beginning by branding herself and being directly involved in every aspect of her career. Since 2003, P. Moses has enjoyed the privilege of working with only selective people, at her own discretion, new comers such as Teedra Moses{Black Moses Records}, G Fresh and Maceo (Quick Flip Records), Kia Shine , and the honor of working with Young Jeezy (CTE), Playa Fly (Minne Mae Mafia) Shawty Lo (D4L Records), Waka Flocka (So Icey Ent.). Since 2004 she has been a 5 time ASCAP Plus Award winner. In 2005, she was nominated for a SEA Award for Best Female Rap and also interviewed in the Street Masters and OZONE Magazines. In 2006, she performed at the national WEUP Black Arts Festival and was featured in the South Streets DVD. In 2007 she was invited to participate at the Africa in April and Memphis in May events. Her debut album scheduled for early 2010 release titled Straight From the Heart will include new Projects featuring Britney Street, Bobby Womack, Natee, and Reason the first song to receive clearance to be remade by Earth Wind and Fire. Inspirations include Michael Jackson, Tupac, Queen Latifa, MC Lyte, Pimp C, other direct influences from Denise Lasalle Queen of Blues, and mentoring of Dwan Smith of original Dream Girls. P. Moses intends to take hip-hop back to the level when an artist has something to say and everyone hears it, because when people are speaking and no one listens a lot of breath is wasted.
