Biography

There is a price you must pay to make it in the music industry and a game you must win in order to leave your mark as one of the greatest – a game that Toronto-born emcee Price knows all about. As a professional soccer player from the age of 16, Price, born Kennedy Owusu-Ansah, has been no stranger to the spotlight. The young star has travelled, lived and played in countries around the world such as Germany and Finland and was the youngest player on the team when he represented Canada in the under 20 World Cup in 2007.
In Price’s fast-paced career as a professional athlete, the only thing that remained consistent was his passion for music and writing, as he found comfort in the music of lyrical legends Big L, AZ and Eminem while adapting to his new overseas environments. It was here that he began perfecting his craft, absorbing musical influences from each country he visited to customize his original sound of intellectual street rap. fur
Price’s worldly wisdom, unique perspective and lyrical genius marks him a revolutionary of the culture. His musical style pays homage to the original soul of hip-hop as he eliminates all gimmicks and filler to create modern music for the masses.
The versatile artist’s first mixtape “Light Work” garnered him an international buzz with radio play of hits such as “Ear To The Streets” and “It’s Complicated” from North American, European and Australian stations, as well as invites to perform in states such as Ohio and Atlanta and his home city Toronto. Just as he is a force on the soccer field, Price has a power to his performance, captivating each crowd with his contagious energy whenever he hits the stage.
His sophomore mixtape, “No Boundaries”, hosted by Statik Selektah will only further prove the importance of Price’s music to the game. As an artist, Price is the complete package and is undoubtedly what hip-hop has been missing
