Bio

Every once in a while an artist emerges with the capability of taking the music industry by storm. When you first hear the suave yet rugged vocals and musical works of “P.R.I.M”, you recognize that he is a seasoned veteran at work.

A Bronx, New York native, P.R.I.M, developed the technique and savvy to surpass the many struggles and obstacles that devoured individuals of his likeness before they got the chance to excel and reach their peaks in life. In the year of 1997, P.R.I.M and childhood friends Shawn “Shim Shawn” McDougal and Larry “SugaFree” Walker formulated a rap trio called Lords Of Flava aka L.O.F. L.O.F. felt that they had a unique sound to bring to the streets and began performing at numerous venues including, the then popular Fever nightclub, The Sugar Shack and Jimmy’s Café, to name a few. With L.O.F. gaining popularity and obtaining a loyal following, they began distributing their music in different housing projects, bodegas and Mom & Pop stores throughout the New York area.

In January of 2000, Shim Shawn was shot and killed at a New York nightclub. With the death of his partner/best friend, P.R.I.M was forced to re-evaluate his lifestyle and this unfortunate tragedy inspired him to continue with the path that he and L.O.F. set upon.

PRIM’s music is a combination of melodic beat sequences behind a polished lyrical content of cutting edge capacity.

Currently, P.R.I.M has combined writing and recording songs, with developing his business strategy, as Chief Executive Officer of his independent label “Get Down Ballerz” (G.D.B), he has transformed his love of hip hop into a business career. G.D.B mastered making sharp harmonic musical melodies that consist of the harsh realities of growing up in less fortunate situations, into making the best of what you have.

G.D.B. evolved from a close bonding between a handful of friends from the South Bronx, into a legacy of numerous productive achievements. Ultimately taking a grasp of the urban market and becoming a way of life.
