"Primal Ground E.P. Review"

Primal Ground "Vital (Havoc Hate)" CD Review
Produced by: 3Sixty Records/Univ
Available on: Airedout Records

Airedout Records obviously has an ear for material that is going to the top. The three track EP has a fresh motivating sound with a mixture of influences including some old school sounds. Hard rock with clear vocal range that you feel in your bones describes this experience. Very rare I listen to tracks three times while reviewing any material. I had my review done the first round. Listening two additional times was just because the songs are that inspiring and unique I wanted to hear them again just for myself.
The three song EP consists of a 3 song mix which any of these tracks could easily become single hits in all markets.

WEIGH DOWN:

The drums, guitar, and bass are so tight in this song it is intense. Now add the unique harmonic lead and backing vocals that work. The guitar solo in this track is a must hear as it is so unique it reminds me of some of the talented idols we all grew up rocking to with an added modern edge.

ONE AND THE SAME:

A ballad that rocks sums up this song. When you listen to this track you'll feel like your at a live show swaying with the audience. The last time I felt this way was at a Journey show. The lead and backing vocals blend and really take your mind away.

HIDE:

The drum beats in this track along with the insane guitar riffs will make you stand up and move. Hardcore music enthusiasts you will feel like your in a mosh pit. The AWESOME ENERGY in this track is an experience you will not soon forget.

Another track not on this EP but was my favorite song is HEALS which is can be heard at Primal Ground's page at myspace.com. My review : SCORE!

Keep your eye out for this band as they will be climbing the ladder of success fast.

Primal Ground Concert Review
At Gotham Hall
Fort Myers, FL

March 31, 2005 - Before Primal Ground even took the stage,
lead vocalist, Buck Cullberson came up to me, shook my hand and thanked me for coming. He doesn't know me from the next person so I thought it was really cool that he took the initiative to interact with people from the crowd. It didn't stop there; as he performed he thanked everyone for coming and urged the audience to have fun. After he performed he took time out to talk with his fans and
patiently sign autographs.

Let me just say that Primal Ground gave a really great performance pumping out tunes with a neo-grunge sound. They structure songs precise and hard, but it's not all hard, they really bring meaning into the music. Buck dedicated a melancholic song with a dark edge to Jessica Lundsford, the little girl who was kidnapped and murdered in Florida. It shows that not only does their music express emotion but these guys also convey sensitivity outside the 'rock n roll' life.

Now don't get me wrong, Primal Ground really rocks out hard. There was a great deal of energetic screaming and hard music that is mosh pit worthy. I must say the lyrics have a sing alongable quality with a metallic edge. Bass player, Drc. Fahey kicked it up a notch with some amazing death growls that thrilled the crowd. For a local band, they really know what they are doing.

I defiantly dug Primal Ground's show. The quality of the songs were really good and stage presence was lively. These guys certainly have the talent needed to progress further musically. Keep an eye out for Primal Ground.
