Beckett L. Cantley, known by the aliases Primitive, The Phax, and GUM, has been making music for nearly two decades. In 2017 Beckett began recording as the idiosyncratic acid techno producer Primitive, and after a few months of experimentation in the studio, released "Liquid Acid" on Bandcamp and SoundCloud. He followed this with the "We EP", a collection of three songs, each standing in opposition to each other in tone but still bringing out the grime found in the mysterious side of techno. In the Fall of 2017 Primitive began playing house shows throughout the Atlanta region and has steadily built a reputation for the eclecticism of his performances. Armed with laptop, sequencer, and home built synthesizer, Primitive produces a collage of sound, remixing his songs and others on the spot, while maintaining a dance friendly vibe. 2018 saw Primitive releasing music videos for fan favorites "Little Fluffy Vice" and "Crust (15
55 Mix") while also releasing the "Phax 421 EP" on Bandcamp, SoundCloud and vinyl.
