Bio

Primrose was spawned in the summer of 2003, when Irish singer Adrian Sullivan decided to build an original band and started putting a band together. As soon as the first songs were written a band was found, and Primrose started to build a repertoire. the irish singer and song writer decided to base himself in denmark due to the fact that all his musical friends were from denmark. The Waterford based band had numerous changes in personnel until settling on the present line-up, that shared a common love for the slightly melancholic, british inspired rock-pop. After several years of recordings the album was still not right, so Adrian Sullivan and Henrik Vindeby decided to strip down all the tracks and reproduce the album themselves. It took the best part of a year but finaly they suceeded in finding the sound you hear on "What you want to believe". The song Pretty Girl opened a few doors for Primrose - mainly Internationally. Primrose had been touring Scandinavia together, and now Primrose began to pull in contacts made on these tours in search of financing of the debut album. The funds were found with a little help from old friends, and recordings began in Copenhagen. After two to three months of recording, adrian found their material to be a bit too close to inspirations like Coldplay, Radiohead, U2 etc., he there for, felt the need for furthering studio time in search of a more personal Primrose sound. For a period of time with recordings of alternative versions of almost all the songs followed. Among other initiatives, was a two week session in a secluded south Jutland studio called Lundgaard Studios, saxophone player Chris De Margary and trompet player Kevin Robinson, both from Simply Red joined in. Also joining was Guitar player Chester Kamen (Roger Waters) and drummer Hugo Deggenhart (Bootleg Beatles). The four musicians was brought in to bring fresh ideas to the music, and several different versions, as well as a completely new song was recorded during those sessions. After further recordings still, this time back in Copenhagen, the album finally started to come to life. Meanwhile Adrian and Henrik had made contact with producer Bob Clearmountain (Robbie Williams, Paul McCartney, Sheryl Crow etc.). Clearmountain liked the songs and for the first time agreed to mix an unsigned album. Clearmountain, Vindeby and Sullivan, perfected Primroses final sound, and now the band went looking for representation. American manager, Alvin Handwerker, Normally juggling artists like AC/DC, agreed to pass the album amongst his contacts in the USA. Of course the band was also looking to cover their base in ireland, though ambitions of distribution abroad had been present since the start. After negotiations with several companies, Primrose has yet to choose a label. Playgroundmusic international do have the album released in some territories world wide. The album now with its name "what you want to believe" is complete and ready for the market. the first single will be released in 2007 in ireland and denmark. It has been along wait and a hard fight but finally it has arrived.
