"Prism Bends the Boundries of Music"

“It’s all about the energy. Quality music that keeps you dancing all night is hard to find, but with Prism’s self-described ‘Trance-Funk-Rock Fusion’ sound, getting down has never been so easy.
Like many of their predecessors, Prism started as a group of friends getting together to jam before they decided to take their music to the next level. Once Jacob, Mark and Stuart narrowed their choices for a fourth member down to the guitarist that fit their style in December 2004, the boys of Prism were ready to hit Fort Collins and the Front Range with full-force.
The name Prism suits the band well, as each member’s style differs vastly in both musical background and experience from the next. However, each song culminates in an array of transcendental energy that moves both the body and mind. The boys rarely play any covers, but they have been known to give their due respect on stage to such bands as the Talking Heads, Pink Floyd and Tool.
With Stuart Allen on bass, Sean Cohen on lead guitar, and the childhood duo of Mark Palke on keyboards and Jacob Smith on drums, playing original music comes very naturally to the band. Each member shares in the song-writing duties, and every song is littered with countless personal touches from all four members. When asked if Prism has any plans for releasing an album in the near future, Mark replied, “We’ve definitely thrown the idea around, but because our songs are so improvisational and we feel very strongly about the live energy of our music, we haven’t sat down and done it yet...” The past few months the boys have really been on fire and with their passion for music and unquenchable energy, anything is possible.”
