Milan’s Alt-Electro Rockers PRIZEDAY
Feature At Cannes Film Festival
The alt-Electro-rock band Prizeday from Milan are announcing their own short film feature at Cannes Film Festival this May where the short film War Zone accompanied by the sound track of the bands debut single War Zone will be revealed in full to the world’s movie industry and media.
This news accompanies the band’s announcement that they will be returning to the UK for the prestigious The Great Escape Festival 17th May with a 10 date run of shows up and down the UK.
Director Marco Marchesi explains ‘War Zone’ is set in a post-atomic planet Earth, lost in a dark age of superstition and chaos. A horde of robots protect the richest whilst terrorizing the survivors’
Vocalist Quarry from Prizeday says ‘when we toured the UK in February we never expected to be invited back so soon and for this to happen as well as the short film being featured at the world’s biggest film festival we are all incredibly excited for what’s going to happen for us and our music over the next couple of months’
Prizeday start their May UK tour in London on the 7th and complete on the 17th In Brighton for The Great Escape Festival:

Prizeday is a four piece band based between London and Milan.
The band was formed by Vittorio Tolomeo, new stage name Quarry, after his well acclaimed solo album ‘Prize Day’.
In 2011, while writing and recording new songs he placed a notice on a magazine looking for people to join a band. Charlie Gio Canti responded and joined him.
After a few line-up changes, Francesco Orlandini and Giuseppe Brambilla (aka Brambo) joined up later.
The debut album ‘Apps will grow like feathers’ has been recorded in Milan and mixed by Irish sound engineer John Grimes.
The album reflects the effort to go beyond the classic line-up. Everyone in the band is interested in playing different instruments, finding fresh sounds and experimenting with all technologies.
The band treated sounds very much, respecting and preserving the starting point of the songs, striving to get to a unique sound.
The debut EP "War Zone" has been released in the UK on 18th February 2013. A promo tour kicked off in the UK in February. Prizeday played a 2nd UK leg in May. The band also performed at the prestigious The Great Escape Festival.
“War Zone”, a short film including five songs of the album, has been launched at Cannes Film Festival.
The band will be opening for The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown in the UK in October.
