Bio

"Prodigal Son" born Dewain Jennings on Nov. 2, 1974 came into the world as a cocaine addicted baby. Well acquainted with the hardships and disappointments of growing up in a broken home, he found solice in his love of music. As a young boy he loved music and desired to be a successful rap artist. He often kept busy by performing and dancing locally to escape the troubles he faced at home. Little did he know that he would one day rap "the gospel" as a minister of the Word to many of the same worldly audiences. He experienced many disappointments as a young boy but somehow he sensed God's hand upon his life. As a teenager Dewain found himself getting involved with the wrong crowd which led to bad choices in drug use and eventually prison. He was incarcerated in 1999 at the Mississippi State Penetentiary were at this crossroad God revealed to him his true purpose in life. While in prison Dewain began teaching a bible class with three people that quickly evolved into a room full of men who were broken, lost souls seeking Christ. With this new hope God revealed that his purpose was to share with the world the message of Jesus Christ and his testimony of how God delivered and changed his life. Being overwhelmed by the thought of such a task, fear consumed him and caused him to run until a close encounter with death forced him to stop and take heed to the 'voice of God' to "preach my Word."

Dewain found that as he began to listen and obey, the Lord gave him words to speak through songs.
These God-inspired lyrics coupled with his testimony of God's delivering power manifested into the album "Thru Da Valley." The album offers powerful messages of how the power of God can transform a thug into a minister of the gospel and use his testimony to inspire and provoke young people as well as old to arise from obscurity into their God-ordained purpose. He uses the conduit of rap because of a unique gifting that God is using to reach many lost souls from a generation heavily influenced by this genre of music. The birth of this ministry is unique in that God has given him the vision that it will take him to places where most artists and ministers may not desire to go in order to reach and feed the multitudes. Dewain, accompanied by his manager, travels extensively throughout the Southeastern states of MS, AL, LA, and GA, rapping and sharing with diverse audiences that "salvation is free and it is never too late for God to change your life if you let Him in." A gifted artist and minister, he is also married and miraculously the father of twin boys. He is a member of Crossroad Fellowship Church pastored by Randy Young in Meridian, Mississippi.
