In the humid slums of the city of Lausanne, Switzerland, Professor Wouassa develops a singular musical genre with roots in the African continent. These eleven musicians don't shy away from mixing afrobeat, high-life and ethio-jazz to their background of 60's soul, old funk and hip-hop. Their first album Dangerous Koko ! is an afrobeat bomb that features the participation of numerous international artists such as Duke Amayo (Antibalas), Chico Mann (Antibalas), Black Cracker, Korbo or Didier Awadi

The band Professor Wouassa was created in 2004. Based in Lausanne, this orchestra skims the scenes of Switzerland before being spotted by Jean-Marc Baehler, producer and presenter of the Radio Show "Republik Kalakuta" on Couleur 3. This one invites Professor Wouassa twice to the famous Label Suisse Festival organised by the national radio RTS.

The album "Dangerous Koko!" releases in Switzerland on the 4th of February 2011. The media and public success is exceptional. At the same time, Professor Wouassa makes speak about him well beyond the Swiss borders through numerous radio broadcastings in England (BBC...), in the United States, in France (RFI...), in Brazil, in Canada, in Greece, in Netherlands and even in Bulgaria. The tour of the album count about forty dates among which the best festivals (Cully Jazz Festival, Paléo Festival, Festi'Neuch, Festival de la Cité...) and venues in the french and german part of Switzerland.

Professor Wouassa is currently working on his second album. The release is planned for 2014
