Project Blue Book

 Boston, Massachusetts, USA
BandRockJam

San Francisco has the Grateful Dead. Seattle has Pearl Jam. Athens, Georgia has Widespread Panic. Burlington, Vermont has Phish. Boston has Project Blue Book... it just doesn't know it yet. We aim to be the greatest touring jam band to come out of Boston.

Biography

Our members are currently at colleges in Boston, Nashville, and Santa Clara, CA so we played together during summer and winter breaks in 2006, 2007, and 2008. 2009 will see the band recording, and gigging full time all over the country.

We started as a jam band jamming off a repertoire of over 50 rock, soul, and funk tunes and they began working our originals into the grooves. They include "I Live in the Sea", "Sour Diesel", "Fried Fish", "Jubilee", "Martian Dub," and "Space Funk."

We have been the house band for the Barking Crab, the "bar under the big red tent" on the mouth of Boston Harbor.

We played over 60 live shows from 2007-2008 in Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Maine, and California. Highlights included opening for popular Sublime cover band Badfish at the Stephen Talkhouse in Long Island, playing with national act State Radio, and rocking a series of well-attended (100+) shows at UPenn frat houses during their famous Spring Fling weekends, as well as other colleges in the Northeast (ex: Bowdoin, Holy Cross, Brandeis, Franklin & Marshall, BC...).

The summer sees Project Blue Book with a new lineup, adding the horn section of Nick Benevides and Erik Zadoroznyj to the already dynamic lineup.

Project Blue Book's high level of musicianship and versatility make us an exciting live act. We can play vintage funk songs, transition to classic rock, and go on spellbinding improvisational explorations at the drop of a dime. This versatility makes us the perfect band to hire no matter what the venue.
