"Rectify EP Buzz Magazine Review"

With Rectify, a four-track EP, Cardiff rapper Project - real name Jake Brimble - adds himself to the city's hip-hop history, which has frequently been frivolous and punchline-happy. Such is not the case here: Brimble is unremittingly serious and emotionally fraught, whether rhyming over portentous piano/strings combos or nu-metal guitar. Atmosphere (a stated influence) is a decent comparison in terms of, well, atmosphere, although Project is a less inventive wordsmith; there's shades of latter-day Plan B, too, in the mix of social comment and personal closet-cleaning. - Noel Gardner

Still working on that hot first release.

After only being around for a few months, Cardiff based rap artist Project has already made an impact. Fusing influences together from all corners of the musical universe, Project blends the emotional pull of classic orchestral strings with dirtier, darker, nu-metal-esque guitar riffs and a fast, hard-hitting vocal delivery.

He quickly took to the stage to perform live, starting his journey off at Cardiff's popular Hub Festival back in August 2015. Since then he has performed with the likes of Regime, Baby Queens and Akala to name a few and is set to support Dead Prez in March 2016.
Energy, passion and emotion are the driving forces in Project's live sets as he captivates audiences with his honest and personal performances.

Taking influences from artists such as Tech N9ne, Atmosphere, Macklemore and Hilltop Hoods, Project released his first EP (Rectify) in July 2015 tackling such topics in his lyrics as bullying, ambition, loss, friendship and substance abuse. The release was well recieved by DJs and journalists such as Adam Walton (BBC Radio Wales) and David Owens (Wales Online) and he is currently working on his second release, set for early 2016, and a UK tour.
