– by Bernard Baur

“Steiger presents a form of progressive rock that is ambient and moody.”

"Project Steiger Review 2"

“…attitude that runs rampant on "Defiance"

“..a death before dishonor attack so sharp and precise that he almost drew blood.”

“…a fast and ferocious ride.”

“Virgil's playing is not only insanely creative, but physically punishing. Without a doubt, the most aggressive drummer I have ever heard (or felt)”.

“I'm very familiar with Tony's work, but this is by far the best that I've heard him”

“I had no idea he (Tony Franklin) could play like this.”

“I am now a huge fan of Tony's. Defiance is a heavy, to very heavy rock CD that instantly became my favorite CD.”

“Always, always keeping the melody in sight this CD possesses a rich beauty despite its overall forceful nature. this is "The Crowned Jewel Of Shred Guitar".

”By the second listen I was thinking that this (DEFIANCE) could be the best rock/shred CD I've experienced. By the third listen I was convinced this is the quintessential rock/shred CD, bar none.”

“Tony Franklin's Bass playing must be heard to be believed.”

"One of the most original approaches to heavy instrumental rock guitar in years”

“I put him (Steiger) along side the likes of Petrucci/Vai/Stump.” - TheGuitarist.com

"Project Steiger Review 3"

“… they have made an instrumental metal album that has enough intensity to melt wax and cause the infirm to collapse. It's like being caught in the eye of a musical hurricane.”

“…fretboard dexterity and muscular riffing that reaches fever-pitch throughout the eleven tracks on the album.”

“…a well-crafted and arranged album with many strong riffs and melodies woven into each track.”

“…a strong instrumental metal album that goes beyond being purely a guitar album.” - Gods Of Music

"Project Steiger Review 4"

“…vivid array of sounds provokes the mind.”

“The production is unreal.”

“He (Steiger) combines melody, power and sheer ability to come up with the intoxicating sounds that make up this beyond unreal disc.”
- Metal_Exiles.com

"Project Steiger Review 5"

“…if you enjoy the Satriani’s and Vai’s of the world, you should jump on this record.”

“…there are some seriously effective compositions here.”
- MetalReview.com

"Project Steiger Review 6"

“…they have created an awesome instrumental Neo-Classical Progressive Metal album.”

“…this CD is a MUST for fans of instrumental guitar orientated Progressive Hardrock/Metal.”
- Strutter Magazine

"Project Steiger Review 7"

“…this album shreds from start to finish, but also contains some memorable melodies amidst the complex metal thunder.”

“Steiger falls more into the James Murphy, Chris Poland school, mixing tons of heavy rhythms with speedy & melodic lead lines dripping with serious tone”

“…a rampaging metal machine fueled by Steiger's heavy licks and Donati's pounding drum work.”

“…the alluring "Child of the Storm", where Steiger out-does Joe Satriani.”
- SEA OF TRANQUILITY – PROGRESSIVE METAL EZINE

"Project Steiger Review 8"

“The songs are a wet dream for fans of the instrumental cd’s Mike Varney released in the eighties, on his own Shrapnel label. Ken Steiger is a shredder similar to Jason Becker, Greg Howe, Richie Kotzen, etc.”

“People who play guitar themselves or get off on technical magic will appreciate the music on this disc.”

“Phil Soussan deserves thumps-up for the quality of the production, because where many Varney’s products failed, Project Steiger succeeds. The production is splendid.”
- Lords of METAL

"Project Steiger Review 9"

“This instrumental masterpiece was listened to over and over again when I got it…still haven’t put it down.”

“I found this album to be an easy top level match to those considered gods in the genre of progressive and instrumental rock/metal.”
- OnlineRock Sound Review

"Project Steiger Review 10"

“…if you dig shred - get this album.”

“…he (Steiger) reminds me of the best of what Satriani has to offer.”

“…the icing on the cake is having Tony Franklins masterful fretless bass playing underpin Steiger's blend of hard rock/metal and fusion leads.”
