Bio

PROLOGUE has come a long way since forming in 2008 in a small Yorba Linda, CA garage. What started as a simple desire for creative music and thoughtful worship blossomed into a five-piece band with an epic sound that powerfully blends diverse influences and remarkable songwriting, culminating in the band's incendiary debut album, The World At Midnight. Addressing apathy, fears, failures, and hope, the album is a sincere call to wake from this slumber we call "comfort" and face a new day.
Founded by Brandon Ezell (guitar & vocals) and Andrew Smith (drums), the band now includes Conor Higgins (guitar), Matt Garcia (bass), and Derek Campanile (keys & programming). The combination of Ezell's soaring vocals with the band's twin attack of de-tuned guitars and Smith's frenetic drumming on standout tracks like "Catching Z's" and "Faults" is a bracing rush of adrenaline. But the band is about more than sheer volume; the melody of "It Was All For Me" is unforgettable and the centerpiece of the album might be the all-acoustic, but far-from-quiet "Ready To Save."
"Do you see it rushing through the trees? / It's a call to get up on your feet / not stricken by my past defeats / they would only bring me to my knees / come on, let's make haste / we're not guaranteed another day," sings Ezell on the album-opening "Days Pass By" and like much of their debut it's a burning call to action. With a wall of sound to match the urgency of the lyrics, Prologue is the kind of band that inspires more than just a passive reaction to their music. This is definitely a band to keep your eye on in 2009. This is only the beginning, this is Prologue.
