We’re so excited to premiere the track “Blood” off of their upcoming debut LP Holding Pattern here on The Wild Honey Pie — we just can’t get enough of this tune. “Blood” brings an appealing ethereality to PROM’s indie pop, with Ella Zoller’s otherworldly vocal manipulations holding their own against kaleidoscopic beats, created alongside the duo’s other half Gabriel Stanley. In a Billboard exclusive, the band PROM has released their new single “Let It Out.” Band members Ella Zoller and Gabriel Stanley came together in 2012 to work with producer Dave “Champagne” Weingarten to create an indie pop electronic sound. “Let it Out” brings together an uplifting beat with thought-provoking lyrics. “This song looks at the contrast between what people say and what they mean behind a screen of positivity,” PROM said in a statement to Billboard. “It explores the dichotomous nature of an argument through a cheerful beat over pensive lyrics.” The Brooklyn-based indie/electronic band with pop-infused sounds is set to release their debut LP Holding Pattern on Aug. 23, with a cohesive track list of songs created to stand alone as well. - Billboard

One thing that Brooklyn electro-pop duo PROM do right is create music that makes your problems seem to just melt away. Their new song, "Mindsight," will remind you of CHVRCHES or Purity Ring, but the duo brings something more to the table: the ability to just float away. It's as if Ella Zoller and Gabriel Stanley have made the jumping into a pool and floating underwater an experience you can have without getting your clothes wet. "This was the first song on our LP that fell into place pretty effortlessly," the duo said of writing this song. "We feel like we hit our collaborative songwriting stride at this point, and it set a new tone for the direction of the album. We started playing around with reversing our vocals and using them as hooks while writing this album, and this track is definitely our favorite."

It’s not hard to remember PROM’s name, which is convenient, because you’re not going to want to forget about this dreamwave duo when they blow up in the very, very near future. A collaborative project between Ella Zoller, Gabriel Stanley and producer Dave Weingarten, PROM is making some of the dreamiest music out there. Today, they release their Holding Pattern LP, a project years in the making, which you can stream below. We also had a chance to speak to Ella and Gabe, whose natural bond is apparent even in an over-the-phone interview.
