Pronto Mama

Pronto Mama

 Glasgow, Scotland, GBR
BandPopAlternative

Pronto Mama are heavily influenced by guitar driven pop, as much as they are by harmonious math rock. In their first year as a band they have gained national radio play, including a live session on Ally McCrae's BBC introducing show and were named in Vic Galloway's list of ones to watch in 2012.

Biography

Pronto Mama consist of four boys from the East end of Glasgow, Marc Rooney (22), Michael Griffin (20), Ciaran McEneny (19) and Martin Johnston (18). Pronto Mama played their first gig 11 months ago and to date they have achieved national and regional BBC Radio 1 plays, played a live set on BBC Radio 1 on Ally McCrae's show. They have played gigs in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Kilmarnock, Dundee, Inverness, Thurso Birmingham and London, featured in Music Week, amassed 20,000 YouTube hits, awarded funding from Creative Scotland in order to complete their first EP, and had a festival appearance thrown in there too. Pronto Mama have supported international acts such as Loch Lomond, local up and coming groups such as Fatherson and are set to support We Were Promised Jetpacks on the return leg of their 2012 tour.

The band are releasing their debut EP in June 2012 through their own label and are currently planning a UK tour in September in support of the release.

Pronto Mama have only been a band for a year, and with the work rate and sheer desire the band have shown thus far they are surely set to achieve bigger and better things.
