PROP JOE BIO

The journey through the music industry has been a long and surprising one for Prop Joe. Starting out as an emcee, and remaining an emcee first and foremost, life seems to have taken different turns. Noticing an obvious void in the music industry, Prop Joe created his own Internet radio show in 2007 entitled "The Prop Joe Radio Show" which caters to independent artists.

During the shows first year, Prop Joe was nominated for 3 Southern Entertainment Awards, proving that there was an audience for underground music and that a voice for the underground was needed. While hosting the Propjoeradioshow celebrities like Guru & Solar, Rocett, Jah Cure, Urban Mystic, Nu Jerzy Devil, Dj Aaries, Dj Chuck T, and TJ from TJ's Dj's, just to name a few have stopped by to show love.

As a result to his commitment to break new records (including his own), Prop Joe also wears the title of DJ and because of his hard work, became a part of The Hood Hard Dj's and has recently been inducted into the Slip n Slide Family where he has been appointed as an official Dj for the label. Prop Joe has elevated to important decision making roles in both organizations.

Prop Joe in the process, has become equally successful in the area of event hosting. With accomplishments including host of the exclusive exposure tour and the grand finale for The Niche Carolina Magazine in SC, and multiple hosting appearances all over NC,

Prop Joe is also sought out as a talented event host regularly, attempting to truly define the title emcee. Also co-owner of Myhouse Entertainment where he has recorded, released, and/or produced 3 full length albums and multiple mixtapes as an artist, producer and dj. As you can see Prop Joe is an artist of many talents and disciplines, all of which are done at an above average skill level. While climbing up the ladder from emcee to radio show host to Dj, Prop Joe has made the first step to his legacy in the game…what else he will do is yet to be seen…stay tuned!

Hip Hop Holiday Party: Now the jingle hop has begun! December 9th is the right time to rock the night away, as the Whiskey rattles and leans to hip-hop hosted by the Original Mr. Neva Dedd and Prop Joe, with Dr. Jones on the 1s and 2s. The current roster (there may be additions) is comprised of nine acts from all over the region. Representing Wilmington, there’s MindsOne and Last Ones Left. Coming in from Raleigh are Adam Rottin, Ghost Dog, and SkyBlew. Chedda Chapp and King James perform on behalf of Winston Salem, Royal Entry’s from Fayetteville, and Prop Joe’s trekking in from Danville, Virginia. Sponsored by AYP Magazine and Gravity Records, all of the proceeds from the night go to Surfers Healing, an organization that reaches out to autistic children by introducing them to the therapeutic qualities of surfing. Next up was the host of the event, Prop Joe who energetically hyped the crowd up with a great balance of go-getter tracks, topped off with an appreciation track, where he also used the size of the venue to his advantage, finding a group of single ladies to dance with while rapping his songs on the microphone.
