Protocol Theory, Title: Protocol Theory,
Released November 2003

Available at CD Baby:

We like to think of Protocol Theory as a musical melting pot. For example, bassist and band founder, Larry Harris, began playing bass at age 5 by listening to R&B on the radio. Later he discovered Jaco Pastorius and Victor Wooten. Larry has developed some unique bass techniques including the ability to play with four (sometimes five) fingers on his right hand. Drummer Jon Cato comes from a rock and blues background but he too is a lover of jazz fusion all of which is very evident in his playing style--a very intense, tasteful, and responsive drummer indeed. Jon was influenced by Billy Cobham, Tony Williams and Ginger Baker. Finally, fiery guitarist Jimmy Sharp hails primarily from a rock background and was heavily influenced by Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Albert King, Leslie West and Neil Schon. You can hear Jimmy's influences in his fierce vibrato and fiery solos. This musical blend plus musicianship makes Protocol Theory worth a second listen.
