Bio

Officially formed in August of 2005, Proven Worth consisted of Matthew Adorno (Lead Vocals/Rhythm Guitar), David Thompson (Lead Guitar/Backing Vocals), Thomas Caulfield (Bass, formerly of Rooster, New Sense), and Daniel Brennan (Drums/Percussion, formerly of Shermer). Matt and Dave had started Proven Worth as an acoustic project, having written about 15 songs between December 2004 and August 2005. Dan started drumming with the band in May of 2005 and the search began for a bassist. Dave met Tom Caulfield one night through a mutual friend and an immediate connection was made. Tom (known as The Claw) was the missing piece to the puzzle.
In December 2005, Proven Worth released their self produced, self recorded, and highly anticipated debut album entitled Last to Know, First to Find Out. With the release of their new CD, the band was ready to start rocking local venues throughout the greater Philadelphia area. From coffee shops, to clubs and bars, the boys of Proven Worth began to make a name for themselves, filling venues with fans eager for a high energy show. Proven Worth saw much success in the Emergenza Festival Battle of the Bands, making it into the final eight (out of over 400 bands) at the TLA. Emergenza critic Bob Lablah summed up Proven Worth’s performance at the TLA: “Our youngest band of the night was Proven Worth, but age doesn’t mean anything on this stage. With energy the size of a dump truck, they played a set of fresh pop-punk to the delight of the TLA crowd.” On this night, Dave was honored as the 2nd best guitarist, Claw as the 3rd best bassist, and Dan as the 3rd best drummer in the entire competition.
After this performance, Proven Worth went back to the drawing board. Dave and Matty began to write some new material while Claw and Dan begin to tweak the current songs to get the most out of them. As the band begun to make their plans to head into the studio, Dan Brennan chose to leave the band for personal reasons. His departure opened up the door for the youthfully enthusiastic Chris Riebling (formerly of Flatline) to fill the void behind the set temporarily. Chris immediately fit right in with the band and they’ve played numerous shows together. Chris’s term as the Proven Worth drummer came to an end in December 2006 and the New Year kicked off with a bang as the band was able to secure Kevin Sitaras, one of the area’s best drummers, as their full time drummer/percussionist.
Proven Worth is now looking to make a push to labels nationwide with a newly recorded four-song demo which includes the energetic “Into Your Arms,” the intense “Chances Like These,” and sing-a-long “Sweet or Salty”, among others. The band has high hopes and a nation wide fan base behind them, and they are striving to have national shows by the summer/fall of 2007. Look for big things to come from Proven Worth.
