Biography

Proviant Audio is 20 year old drummer/multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer and DJ Mathias Stubø from Tønsberg, Norway. Proviant Audio blends retro funk, disco and soul with modern electronic music into a warm, eclectic north european blend.

Proviant Audio is the recording moniker of Norwegian drummer/multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer Mathias Stubø, an artist who at the tender age of twenty is set to create quite a stir with his inspirational sound.

In his home country Stubø has already gained notoriety having won an ‘Artist of the Week’ award on Norway’s national radio network, NRK P3 (and at the incredible age of 14!). In 2010 the self same station has him nominated for ‘Artist of the Year’ and he has been building a solid reputation for his live performances backed by a full band of up to 12 members.

Mathias Stubø/Proviant Audio has performed shows at all the major Norwegian music festivals and venues such as Øyafestival, Hovefestival and more.

Spring 2011 Stubø released two albums that deals with the two aspects of Stubø’s sound.
His debut Real Love Tastes Like This! was released by Paper Recordings in May,
While his second album (debut under his own name) was released by BBE Records in June.

He released his second album under his own name in spring 2012 and is now set to release his second album under Proviant Audio.

There will be an EP released in Norway winter 2012 before the album drops in Norway spring 2013. Both the EP and album will be available worldwide through Paper Recordings during 2013.
