"Slick Idiot (ex-KMFDM) hits TTs, Provocateur on board"

"After a few years of figuring out their sound, mixing darker elements of glossy electro-pop with a newer wave of Electronic Body Music flair, Provocateur is now poised to break out beyond the underground music circles. They even caught the attention of Los Angeles-based electro tastemakers IHEARTCOMIX" - Boston Herald

"Un peu de PROVOCATEUR"

"By chance I came upon this band from Boston called PROVOCATEUR and this boy has some sexy damn vocals. They just finished their debut album and I can definitely see some great dance remixes coming out of their work in the future... Is it the weekend yet? After these two tracks I'm kind of in the mood for a little booze and people watching."

"PROVOCATEUR Unlikely alliances make for unlikely stardom"

"With a bone-numbing remix of 'Leave Her To Heaven' from hot producer Redlight already released, and the success of singles like 'All Your Friends Are Naked' well documented, Provocateur are on their way."

"Stuff Boston"

"What happens when an opera singer turned jazz-folk singer-songwriter takes up with an synth-savvy industrial musician? Addictive electropop, evidently, because that's what we’ve been hearing from Provocateur. Founded by frontman Matthew Connor and programming phenom Stacia Tucker, the unlikely duo has since been joined by Adam “Honey Smacks” Hodges on bass and Chris Lampner on drums. Now the Boston-based quartet puts out dance-floor-filling sounds with smart (and sometimes smartass) lyrics and darkly sultry vocals that practically scream aural sex." - Stuff Magazine

"Review of "Consider this a Warning""

"'The coordination of great musical compositions and clear talented vocals is close to flawless, with the end result being a unique and easily recognizable sound... Consider this a Warning' is a very solid and promising debut release, with almost universal appeal. Judging from debut effort, a full-length release by this duo is something definitely worth looking forward to."

Bio

"Mothers, lock up your children; fathers, lock up your beer..." So begins Bad Blood and Brushfire, the debut album from Boston based electro-pop quartet Provocateur. Featuring the sly, sultry vocals and darkly witty wordplay of frontman Matthew Connor, and anchored by the sinuous, silky synths and beats of Stacia Tucker, Provocateur have crafted a sound that is sexy, smooth, and polished to an electric sheen by engineer Jeremy Page of That Handsome Devil. Including twelve irresistibly danceable tracks about addictive love, sexual confusion, and Twitter-generation aimlessness, Bad Blood and Brushfire draws on diverse sounds ranging from Depeche Mode to The Faint to Justin Timberlake to create a seductively brooding, yet immediate pop sound.

Matthew and Stacia are joined on stage by the debonair yet dangerous Adam Hodges on the bass and the ever charming Berklee grad Chris Lampner on the drums. With festival appearances, headlining gigs, and opening slots for artists such as Nitzer Ebb, IAMX, Freezepop, and My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, their high-energy performances have won over fans and filled dance floors throughout New England.
