Bio

April 17th of 1983 was an important day for hip hop. This day marked the birth of Carlson Vern Steven Hendrickson who is soon to be known worldwide as PROVY. With the current state of hip hop being a roller coaster of criticism PROVY brings a refreshing taste of tradition and global appeal. Originally hailing from Trinidad birth place he evolved from, at the age of ten PROVY relocated stateside starting his journey in New Jersey, Brooklyn, Queens then Yonkers, New York which then became the environment that assisted in shaping the individual that is emerging now. His initial influence came from his cousin named Josiah who resided in Jamaica Queens NY. PROVY will proudly insist that his cousin was his inspiration to become a artist. Other influences include Marshall Montano a calypso artist,Micheal Jackson, James Brown, Nas, Jay-z, WuTang Clan and real music heads around the world independant and industry. As an artist that has not yet become a household name it would be alot easier for PROVY to compromise himself and go with the bandwagon of artist who tend to follow trends. But, he's comfortable with his music and how he projects himself as a artist. He has surrounded himself with quality producers such as Fresh aka Steve Dennis, Cash Cow Keri and Green Tea Musik to further guide his adaptable ability. One of the supporters of PROVY when asked what kind of style or label would they place him they replied, "Universal Hip Hop!" This means that he can relate to all regions and faces of life within music. With the inception of his own company Level Up he believes that he will be able to release at least 5 quality albums and a host of various mix-tapes to promote the Level Up brand. After securing his position financially he plans to open up performing arts schools that will give help to underprivileged children. This is the artist of the future. When artists are looking for handouts PROVY is out there making a way out of no way. The Hip Hop Way!
