The new rock experience is PROX...

With Canada's premiere female drummer, a set of identical twins, an Irish guy that has enough energy to power a nuclear plant, and a singer with a voice that will melt your soul, PROX is the next genesis of rock.

Executing a metamorphosis of pop, rock, metal, and hardcore influences to create emotionally charged anthems, PROX delivers a live show with passion and precision. The band is undeniably truthful, poetically correct, melodically creative and beautifully inspiring.

The mystery of PROX shines through their first music video for the single "Kaleidoscope". A second video for the track "Hello Unhappy" is currently underway, and the track "The Idiot" has just been added to the popular 'Downtown Metal" compilation. Prox is currently in the studio recording their highly anticipated second album with acclaimed Vancouver producer Tim Neuhaus of Ear Art Studios.

"We want to make music for as long as we live; it's all about working hard, evolving as songwriters, and having fun!

*** PROX PRESS RELEASE August 1, 2008 ***

Vancouver based hard Rock band takes city by storm!

No ordinary band is what comes to mind when you see PROX live or listen to the PROX album. PROX has drawn comparisons to Faith No More, SOAD, Rob Zombie and Mr. Bungle for its hard-edged, future-modern rock styling.

Recently PROX shared the stage with EMI recording artist Pride Tiger to a sold out crowd in Surrey on July 18, 2008. PROX will also share the stage with Universal / Motown recording artist The Veer Union on Thursday August 7, 2008 at The Plaza Club in Vancouver.

Keeping active is what the band does as they have recently wrapped up shooting their second music video for the track "Hello Unhappy" which will be released in the near future. "It was an enjoyable experience, Simon Collins (Phil Collins son) bumped into us at the shoot after a show he had finished that night at the Commodore opening for Collective Soul. He played my drums and he chilled out at the video shoot with us...It was pretty cool!" says drummer and Coquitlam resident Melanie.

With a first album that is unreleased and two music video's waiting to hit the TV airwaves you would think PROX would be slowing down, but they are back in studio working on a second record with acclaimed record producer Tim Neuhaus of Ear Art Studio's which will be completed by the end of January 2009.

PROX will be playing an all ages show for the kids who still have yet to see them live at The Guildford Skate Park on Saturday September 6, 2008. PROX has also landed the coveted opening track on the popular "Downtown Metal Compilation" from Quick Star Productions out of the USA which will be available at all your local record stores in late August.

Be sure to check out the PROX website at for music, future show dates and to check out all the exciting upcoming news. You can support this local band by requesting PROX on the fox!
