Pryor Baird & The Deacons played traditional, roots and original blues and came to the stage with fire in each memeber's heart. Pryor Baird played some mean slide licks and had solid vocals. Pryor Baird fronts the group, with powerful yet delicate guitar work; nimble fingers aren't his only asset. Pryor is well known for his burning slide melodies and solid rough vocals. The man on the down beat is Gabriel Riley II, drummer extraodinaire. Whether it's laying it back slow or driving it through the roof Gabriel has got it nailed. Rounding out the rhythm section is bassist Artis Joyce (AJ); he puts down a distinctive "fat hollow sound" that drives the band along. Mike Torres Jr adds to the band his melodic keyboard expertise. This is a band that can take a blues standard and make it sound brand new. You don't hardly get this combination of musical talent everyday.

They play originals, Blues, Roots and Americana with a Chicago swinging groove and a swampy crawl all in one.
