Hip-hop & more on the Bowery

"Adjust The Music: The Wordvolution Show," a showcase starring rapper Ps Dot, artists' collective Da-vid and My Heart's Bones, and the duo Common Thred, is coming to Crash Mansion, 199 Bowery in Manhattan, on Tuesday at 8p.m.

THE NEW ERA SHOWCASE

FOUR NEW GROUPS DEMONSTRATED THEIR TALENT IN FIRST EVER MINI-CONCERT.

New York, NY (June 19, 2009) -- After last night’s mini-concert, a new era has begun. The New Era Showcase was a complete success after four up-and-coming artists displayed their singing and hip hop skills in front of a packed house in Brooklyn Thursday evening. The event was held at the Complete Sound Studios where Aztecknique Productions and the Social Services of Hip Hop produced the showcase. Despite the inclement weather, family members, friends, and vital entertainment industry individuals displayed their support and Hip Hop pride during the event.

Shavar opened the show where he sang some of his singles including “I Want Her.” Humani later went on where they impress everyone with their beats and freestyle. PS. Dot introduced a new anthem called “Hip Hop” which was one of the most popular songs of the evening. Finally, Common Thred closed out the program to several tunes including “New Era.” Lin Que hosted the show where she brought her energy and excitement. Before the performance, guests had the opportunity to network with artists and important clients. Jineea Butler, president of Social Services of Hip Hop, talked to crowd about becoming citizens of Hip Hop.

The New Era Showcase introduced a new school of Hip Hop that will lead the next generation into becoming citizens. “A new era” where guests had a sneak peak to see what Hip Hop offered. Representatives at the Complete Sound reported that The New Era Showcase was their biggest and best event in the studio’s tenure. The showcase also put the Social Services of Hip Hop brand on the map.

Refreshments and small appetizers were served. At the end of the concert, the audience took home The New Era Mixtape CD along with the Social Services of Hip Hop post card. The mixtape CD, produced by Hip-Soul Entertainment, had 23 total songs from all four performers.

PS DOT Biography
Hip Hop is more than a career choice for Ps Dot it's his passion. Born and raised in Brooklyn Ps Dot paints pictures that are so real and heart felt that they often mirror reality. In describing his style one would have to say "if Hip Hop were a movie than Ps Dot would be the soundtrack". The self-proclaimed "Marvin Gaye of Hip Hop" Ps Dot touches on subjects ranging from relationships, fatherhood, violence and the upliftment of oppressed people around the world. Ps Dot's goal is to use music as a tool to make freedom and the pursuit of happiness not just a catch phrase but a reality for all.

Ps Dot is not only an artist he is actively involved in his own career as well,he is currently working on his EP “Truly Your’s” due to be released in spring 2012 which is a follow up to his first mixtape “PS…I Love You”. On his debut he has worked with Hip Soul artist Tek and Kovon of Common Thred and Ish and Mega of Humuni. Ps Dot has also worked with Azteznique productions,Rahimah,Devante Myles of Datz Hot Music and Phya Inc of Dutchess of York Entertainment.

Ps Dot has also performed at The Lab in Brooklyn with former Bad Boy artist Hoodfellas,A Night Under The Stars at Club 112 in Atlanta hosted by Jermaine Dupri and at the world famous Cotton Club in Harlem. Ps Dot has also worked with the Social Service of Hip Hop and performed at The Audubon Ballroom with Lin Que formelly known as Isis of X-Clan and West 4th street "The Cage" all-star game in New York. He has also done events with Redsun Productions and performed at the Hip Hop Collective at Touchstone Theatre in Bethlehem and Food For Thought at The Theatre Outlet in Allentown both in Pennsylvania. Ps Dot also performed in "Adjust The Music: The Wordvolution Show" at Crash Mansion in New York.

Overall Ps Dot is using his music as a bridge between people who like old school Hip Hop values with a new school Hip Hop sound. In the beginning beyond now, that is Ps Dot. His goal is to give people a taste of reality that they can dance to and bring the fun back in Hip Hop music. If Hip Hop is universal than Ps. Dot is a star**FOLLOW THE LIGHT**
