Psycho 44 is an electronic rock band hailing from Antwerp, Belgium. Their experimental approach to music, mixed with influences from bands such as DFA 1979, QOTSA, Nine Inch Nails and Millionaire, result in a mix of melodic songs brought with focus and raw power.
This sound combined with their energetic and pounding live shows got them into the finals of the prestigious Humo’s Rock Rally 2010 competition. In this year they would also go on to be the seasonal winner of Studio Brussel’s Vi.Be On Air contest, which selects a track from an upcoming band that they want to breakthrough.
And so they did! After recording their Demon Ep, with Triggerfinger’s Monsieur Paul, they were charted twice in Studio Brussel’s alternative chart, called “De Afrekening”. Playing many shows and festivals, such as Rock Herk and Crammerock, they have continued to grow artistically!
Psycho 44’s single “All My Demons Have Distortion” also features on the new Converse Mixtape Volume 4. This fall they will continue to play shows after which they’ll retreat for a while, to work on their highly anticipated debut album!
What more can we expect from these youngsters? A lot.
