Bio

Publicity is the product whenever social justice intersects with Hip-Hop. This small-town girl grew up in rural Alabama in a town called Daleville. Growing up wasn't easy for her. At a very young age, she was introduced to the hardships of being marginalized within her own community. Publicity is a black transgender woman growing up in one of the most conservative states in the United States. She has persevered through her share of racism, transphobia, homophobia, and misogyny. These experiences certainly helped mold her into the unapologetic, in your face, lyrical, hip-hop social justice warrior that we know today.

Publicity has never been known to shy away from uncomfortable topics. Her lyrical content consists of police brutality, the corrupt justice system, racism, misogyny, LGBT rights, women and trans empowerment, sexual empowerment, and positive body image. Her lyrical ability has been compared to some of the greats. She has been referred to as "the fem Kendrick Lemar" and been compared to the likes of Eminem, J-Cole, Lupe Fiasco, Hopsin, and Nas. Publicity also holds the amazing ability to relay messages in a relatable way and have you on your feet and turning up while doing it. The main objective of a publicity song is to empower the listener. Needless to say, her music is unique and one of a kind.

Her name and face may be familiar to you. You've probably seen her on the hit B.E.T hip-hop reality T.V show called "One-shot", where she was one of the top finalists from the Atlanta leg of the show. On this show the phenomenal and renowned judge and hip-hop recording artist Crooked I coined her as the one that will change Hip-Hop. Or you may have heard her on the iconic LLBP radio show rap battles where she was the first transgender person to ever compete and has the longest winning streak in the history of the show.

Hip-Hop has been begging for Publicity. She has the star power and lyrical ability to be mentioned in the same breath as the greats that's come before her. One listen to her music and you won't be able to deny that she will soon redecorate the interior of hip-hop and change the narrative that’s attached to it. Publicity is coming and she's here to stay.
