"Puff Puff Beer - All About Love"

Now that you’ve made Great Decisions, it’s time you live with them. All About Love is that day after a night of debauchery.

You’ve gone too hard. You’ve done bad. These are the times that build soul. That soul builds relationships. ZWG comes out of these moments. Zombie Whiskey Girl is Puff Puff Beer’s rendition of the popular top 40 track “I Can’t Feel My Face” by The Weeknd. You love her, but you know she’s an enabler and that’s your favorite part about her.

You get ready and leave the house excited because you’re money’s gonna quadruple tonight!

Now I don’t know if Tony Parker is just a reference to the Spurs player, a late night alias, or an anagram for “prayer knot,” but it is the party track of the album. It’s that walking in the party on your own level. It’s that other high, that gambling high. You’re strutting in telling yourself:

all the pretty girls around the world
know my name
And you soon realize, you shouldn’t have counted the hens before the eggs hatched:

I lost all of my money
on that god damn spurs game
This is when you swear you’ll never do that again, but you know deep down that that you will.

Richman is the result of the constant gambles we make. That feeling that if we just had a little more, we could be great! The world just doesn’t want us to be happy. The man is holding us down. Almost every college grad or drop out can vibe with this struggle-bus anthem.

Alright so let’s recap. You’re hungover, high, and broke. All you’ve got is the world around you. You wander into a strip club to people watch. You yell at the girl in front of you to “Shake! Shake like a willow tree!” It’s her fault anyway, right? She manipulated you into this position:

see ya got me right where you want me to be
eating out your sweaty palms
You black out.

The Jackpot is that moment when you roll over in the morning and that beautiful woman that you were yelling “Shake!” at last night comes into focus.

sugar pie only if you knew
how many dudes would like to get a slice of you
I hit the jackpot
Is this real life?! Am I still high? Oh man, life is sweet once again.

"Puff Puff Beer - Shake!"

It's too difficult to box Puff Puff Beer into a single genre.

Even more difficult, perhaps, is to pick a favorite song off their latest EP, titled All About Love, which is jam packed with funky sounds, jazzy guitar riffs, and cigarette-raspy soul vocals. Each song is high energy, their charisma and swagger bolstered by their Oakland roots.

Frontman, Antoine Simmons, leads the way with hedonistic stories about partying, losing money, and trying to find love.

"Puff Puff Beer at LLC"

What was a classroom just hours earlier was invaded by local student band Puff Puff Beer for a concert at the Living-Learning Center (LLC) performance hall on Wednesday February 13. Students gathered around the stage as colorful alternating lights shined on the band and music reverberated throughout the small venue.
The band has a unique sound. It is essentially alternative rock with obscenely playful rap lyrics. Puff Puff Beer describes their music as the result of “Lil B and Dan Auerbach [having] a love child.” This is certainly a lofty claim, but listening to their music, it starts to make sense.
“It’s easy,” vocalist Antione Simmons says of his band’s music. “[It’s like] when you wake up in the morning and there’s a twelve pack of PBR next to you. Just feel good music.”

Simmons sang about white girls spending their Dad’s money as well as about waking up next to girls who aren’t models, but are “well fed” nonetheless. The crowd of UO students responded particularly positively to one song that Simmons coined as “The Hilyard Anthem.”
The singer developed a relationship with the audience as well, stepping off stage and—near the crowd for this one—singing that “the good times are killing me my friend.” The crowd joined in with a rhythmic clap as Simmons repeated the hook “there’s no more alcohol.”
Puff Puff Beer’s lyrics cater to the need for shenanigans in college students. The lyrics may come off as offensive at times, but that’s just the Lil B in them.
Simmons says that the band’s music is made with people like students in mind.
“[It’s for] people that want to have a good time, people that aren’t afraid to get down,” he explains. “The energy of the student population is on another level.” - Ethos Magazine

"Music: Ghost Beach and Puff Puff Beer play tonight at the Living-Learning Center"

Wednesday night, New York’s Ghost Beach and University of Oregon’s own Puff Puff Beer will be playing a show at the Living Learning Center performance hall.

Puff Puff Beer started out in Eugene playing house shows around campus with other student artists, such as C-Villian.

“It takes us to a whole new level when we perform, the support from our friends and other artists in the community, we feed off the energy,” Simmons said.

As for their music, Puff Puff Beer plays high energy blues, rock, funk and hip-hop.

“Some say that our music is like a cold six pack of PBR first thing in the morning,” Simmons added.

Puff Puff Beer opens for Ghost Beach tonight at the LLC, admission is free and music starts at 8 p.m. - Daily Emerald

Bio

Puff Puff Beer is a high-energy musical act that combines flavors of rock, blues, funk, and hip hop into its unique style and sound. The band was created in Eugene, Oregon by the guitar player Ryan Schaeffer and singer Antione Simmons. They began as a band whose focus was to harness the energy of bars and house parties into their music and make people dance and have fun.

As the band grew the band members changed and the sound of the band matured as well. Eventually the stars aligned when they acquired an all-star rhythm section including Isaac Schwartz on drums, Carson Smith on bass, Ian Mcardle on piano and additional vocalist Mistah Luhtakizz.

Since their beginning in Eugene the band has expanded and has played shows up and down the west coast. Some of these venues include The Stork Club in Oakland, CA, Firken Tavern in Portland, OR, and The Inlander Volume Music Festival in Spokane, Washington.  They were also one of the finalists in the Oakland Music Festival Best Music Video Competition.

Puff Puff Beer is a new band on the scene but has a very strong work ethic and a vast amount of musical talent.
