"Puggy Band"

PUGGY BAND: Formed early 2004 in Brussels, this English, French and Swedish trio deliver an energetic acoustic rock that blows away any audience. Definitely a band to see live. - Troubadour

"newly-signed band"

I then put my head into gear and start hunting round for
Doherty's bird to see what she is wearing but out of fear of getting busted, we calmly walk through his entourage and out of the tent to catch up with newly-signed band
Puggy (interview coming soon). We take some photos of the band sitting on a bin which has their album poster on and while I hide at the back trying to keep the bin
stable, a group of photographers surround us and start snapping. This sums up the attitude of the other media backstage; you can be absolutely anyone and they'll
start snapping photos just so they can tell their editors they were involved in something 'crazy.' It almost makes me want to say, "learn to write, pick up a pen and
change the media world..." I love harmless clichés... - Leeds Festival (U.K.)

"Puggy"

We love it when bands are made up of international
members and jazz/punk outfit Puggy seem to love it
too. An English singer/guitarist, Belgian bassist
and Swedish drummer came together a couple
years ago and formed Puggy – winners of the
unsigned band slot at Readling/Leeds 2005. They
draw inspiration from literature (“I love Oscar
Wilde”, singer Matthew says. “I also delve into a lot
of French philosophy which has interested me
since school”). Of their Reading/Leeds experience,
drummer Ziggy says that it was a pretty wild ride. “It
was pretty manic doing a gig then jumping straight
up on the bus and driving up to do the same gig on
the same line-up the next day! However we made
lots of friends on the journey and the backstage
camping was fun. Although no one’s really there for
sleeping!” For more info: www.puggyband.co.uk - Somasomascene

Bio

After over two years of international concerts, Puggy have become one of the must-see bands from Belgium's modern pop-rock scene. Back in early 2006, a demo agreement with Geffen Records followed by a private showcase with renown producer, Steve Lillywhite, also seduced by Puggy's dynamic style, encouraged the band to record their powerful new song, The Luckiest Crime.

Increasing interest from Belgian record companies due to Puggy's success abroad led to a deal with the Brussels based indie label, talkieo. This allowed Puggy to not only release Luckiest Crime single on an international basis but also to start work on but their first full album (due for release in April 2007).
