Pump Five is the new blend of rock. With its hard-hitting beats, high-energy and rhythmic sway, the band is partying at it’s best—it’s Cheap Trick meets Lit infused with the Cure. Hailing form the Inland Empire, California, Pump Five has been playing together for four years. Formerly known as Face, Pump Five, has been heralded as being radio-friendly hard rock with a driving beat and catchy chorus.
Pump Five is composed of Steve Barnett (front man), Johnny Fortune (guitar), Andrew Cates (bass) and André Bonter (drums). The band has benefited from increased prominence in the Southern California region and has made numerous appearances at live shows throughout the Southern California region. The band has a devoted fan base in the Inland Empire area and a growing fan base in the Southern California region. Pump Five recorded its first album entitled, P5, in 2001, resulting in notable record sales.
The band’s members bring an array of remarkable experience in both music and songwriting. Prior to forming Pump Five, certain members of the band have appeared on soundtracks and produced independent records.
Pump Five describes its work on the new album as music for partying. “We want to take people on a trip with our music. We are a party band and we want our listeners to feel the party every time they play our music,” says Steve Barnett. The band expects to go into the studio to complete its second album at the end of October. The band has strong lyrical talent in each of its members and front man Steve Barnett does a masterful job of taking the bands lyrics to another level with his voice. Each of the band’s members bring a unique blend of clean and fluid sound mixed with an addictive measure of punk.
