Things You Should Leave Alone

Puracane's well known debut album. Praised as 'ethereal and seductive' by URB magazine and 'choice' by XLR83.

In Limbo: The Lost Puracane Sessions

In Limbo is a collection of tracks that were recorded over the past two years and didn't have a chance to see the light until now. The songs were written by Ali Rogers and produced by satellite members of Puracane. Bio

Puracane began as a duo in 1999. Vocalist Ali Rogers and producer David Biegel co-wrote the album 'Things You Should Leave Alone', released by Ubiquity records in 2000.

Ali Rogers decided to take the project from the studio to a live act and in 2001-2004 Puracane played shows with Sting, Duran Duran, Jane's Addiction and Depeche Mode. Puracane's music featured in the films Driven Felicity, Road Rules and Real World.

Today Puracane are Ali Rogers on vocals, Juan Masotta on guitar and electronics, Drew Thurlow on bass, and Andrew Griffiths on drums.

The band released last year 'In Limbo - The Lost Puracane Sessions', a collection of songs composed and produced by several satellite members during the band's hiatus.

Currently the band is working on new material for the next album and playing shows in NYC, while preparing to tour the upcoming fall.

reviews
CMJ
a devastating debut of hypnotic, downbeat electronic pop

ALL MUSIC GUIDE
soulful and sexy......everything a good trip-hop album should be (moody, mysterious, hip, and funky), but, by using tried and true pop formulas and beats with a distinctly human element, also manages to be exceptionally accessible.

AUDIO GALAXY
Things You Should Leave Alone will send you to a world where everything is made of chrome, and all the beautiful people move just a bit slower than the rest of us. Rogers coos you into a soothing lull with her hollow, resonant, rompinÕ sexy vocals, as Beigel breaks hypnotic but heavy electronic beats behind her.

FAST FORWARD
Merging Biegel's mellow groove with Rogers' torchy intensity, the songs on this CD subtly work themselves into your memory. They aren't so much heard as absorbed........ eminently listenable.........an excellent chill-out CD and an impressive debut.

SUPERSPHERE
An endlessly soothing sound. I couldnÕt quite get my hands off of it, sometimes I even put my head down on the desk, completely consumed by the lush and dizzying heights of carefuly constructed emotion that seeps out of this record like mist from a waterfall. I guess you could say IÕve been completey taken.

DJ MIXED.COM
Things You Should Leave Alone is introspective both lyrically and musically and does a fine job of helping the listener feel comfortable in a darkened existence. Quality musical expression and sincere emotions do the trick every time.
