Pura Vida

Pura Vida started as a jam unit where Charlotte and Rio met back in 2004 at a class in University. They first played some covers and Char's original songs, then started writing their original pieces. After playing various shows in Victoria, in 2005, they decided to record their first album titled "Better than a Label" at the Vanishing Wilds Studio with the help of Mr. David Rogers (producer/owner of the studio). David helped us create relaxing atmosphere during the 3 day recording session. Right after the recording session, Charlotte flew to South America and then found new affection to their local music. On the other hand, Rio joined the legendary Japanese Heavy Rock Band from Gold Coast and learned the importance of stage performance through winning several band competitions at Victoria. Pura Vida's music is ranging from Pop to Alternative, even to soft rock and Folk music. Their influences are mixed such as George, Al Di Meola, Micheal Hedges, The Cranberries, U2, Radiohead, Dream Theater and Cyndi Lauper. Now Pura Vida is back again and has started writing new materials and preparing for some serious moment.
