"Local Area Man A Rising Star"

The Jersey Shore has produced many mega rock stars such as Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi. Now living in Williamsburg, Broooklyn and neighbors to the likes of Norah Jones, Interpol, Longwave and The Strokes, Chris' band Pure Dream Ladder are making a name for themselves and both the local and international stage. The band has already sold over 2,000 copies of their 4 month old EP and plans...................... - Asbury Park Press

Bio

Just coming off playing in front of 2,000 people in London can be a buzz. "It was amazing," stated lead singer Chris Mezera in a UCL Radio interview after the show. "2,000 people had no idea who we were and at the end they were going nuts." Pure Dream Ladder recently set a Carling Group sales record for and opening act by selling over 1,000 pounds(about $1,800) of merchandise after the Shepherds Bush Empire show in Novemebr of 2004. 2005 saw the band play LA at the Roxy and return home to New York City for a residency at Crash Mansions.

Formed in New York City, in the year of 2001,
Pure Dream Ladder has all the signs of true greatness: excellent songs, outstanding musicianship, powerful live presence and possession of an inner radar always steering them in the right musical direction.

They have been likened by some critics to,
“..Travis, The Doves, Coldplay and The Verve to name a few, notwithstanding the occasional Spiritualized nod…” Trying to describe their style isn't easy, because their sound is very much their own.

PDL’s music is produced by the band along with
rock-soundscaper Bryce Goggin (Pavement / Spacehog / Evan Dando/ The Ramones) at Bryce’s studio, Trout Recording, in Brooklyn, NY.

The New York Press described the band in late 2003: “Puredreamladder has a keen understanding of how arrangements and production can turn a tired cliché into something unique. How using unexpected combinations without losing sight of a good melody leads to a song being catchy yet not shallow and formula-like. Maybe they're a rock band with a pop sensibility, maybe it's the other way around - you'll have to listen and make up your own mind. Basically they're moving between different genres without effort, picking out the best parts and piecing them back together in a new, unexpected and most enjoyable fashion.”

In short: Pure Dream Ladder is finally getting the recognition they deserve, both from fans and music industry alike, and luckily at a time when the band is more prepared then ever to make the most it.
