Purple Zippers are a Colombian electronic 3-piece band from Bogot with a disco glitch/rock style. Founded in New York and Bogot by its producers, Santiago Uribe, Jorge M. Hurtado and Juan Uribe, they started working on their first tracks in 2010.
By the end of that year, they had already recorded and produced 10 original songs which they would release later in 2011 for free. These release included a two EP set called DanceRock. The tracks found on these 2 EPs are a solid mix between the bands classic rock influence and the funk and disco music from the 70s and 80s, resulting in songs with powerful guitar riffs mixed with funky slap-bass lines, heavy synth sounds and tasteful vocals.
In 2011 they started playing live in different festivals in Colombia and have shared stage with bands such as The Presets, The Sounds, Bag Raiders, The Twelves and CSS among others. The live shows from this band may vary from DJ Sets and a 3-piece live act to a full band performance depending of the type of concert or festival theyre playing at.
They also have made remixes for bands such as mb.OMG from New York, Globos De Aire and Those from Bogot, Colombia.
In 2012 they released their first official EP called "The moon" under Overcooked Records (France) followed by their single "Lost In Time" in November of 2013.
