Bio
ritish band Purple Melon is comprised of:
Tom Hill (age 22) on vocals and guitar,
Eric Joyce (20) on bass,
Owen Barry (24) on guitar and
Jason Ganberg (23) on drums.
Shortly after the band's formation when Hill and Joyce left school. they met a trio of young filmmakers and together they came up with the idea of filming the group's journey. Teaser snippets of the footage can be viewed on YouTube, MySpace, Vuze and their website.
While playing various venues in London the group attracted the attention of many leading producers, eventually recording with Paul Stacey (Oasis, Black Crowes).
The band decided to move to Los Angeles, they wanted some sun on their backs and californian girls by their pool! By gigging extensively around LA California they have gained many American fans and expanded their musical influences.
They regularly play historic clubs like The Viper Room on the Sunset Strip.
The band has also started to garner strong support on US taste maker radio stations such as KTCL, WXPN, KNRK, etc
