Mills said Purpose's ministry touches many people's lives, not only with its music, but because of the Lord's presence in their lives.
"There is more to us than singing," she said. "Singing gets us in the door, then God takes over. "... some groups make the Christian life look hard..."

Bio

With the musical influences of artists such as CeCe Winans, Yolanda Adams, Mary Mary and Selah; PURPOSE is known for their harmonic blend and their inspirational, uplifting, and heartfelt performances. In addition to their sound, PURPOSE brings to the stage an ability to connect with their audience by luring them into an interactive and empowering experience through self-reflective humor and the sharing of personal triumphs.

Formed in October 2001 and at a mere seven months after inception, PURPOSE won the first ever small groups competition of the Babbie Mason Music Conference International and earned the accolades of being the conference's overall Grand Prize winner. As a result, PURPOSE went on to compete internationally at the Gospel Music Association "Seminar in the Rockies" in Estes Park, Colorado; placing 4th in the group category. In late 2002, PURPOSE recorded their debut project entitled, "According To His...PURPOSE".

Now approaching their 6th year of music ministry, PURPOSE has performed their unique a capella version of "The Star Spangled Banner" (twice) for the NFL team Carolina Panthers (Monday Night Football aired on the NFL channel with a stadium of 73,000 fans), the ECHL Charlotte Checkers hockey team and the MBL Hickory Crawdads baseball team. PURPOSE has opened for such gospel artists as multiple Grammy Award winner CeCe Winans, Dove Award winner Ron Kenoly, Alicia Williamson-Garcia, Babbie Mason, Christian comedian Dennis Swanberg, and gospel rapper/actor, T-Bone. PURPOSE most recently played to a packed house in Western North Carolina delivering a Live Recording Concert accompanied by background vocalists and one of the most gifted bands in the area. This sophomore project, "PURPOSE Live", is expected to be released in late spring of this year.

PURPOSE has ventured to Colorado, Virginia, South Carolina, and Georgia driven to fulfill their mission of "impacting the WORLD with the good news of Jesus Christ".
